He Cheated I Rose: Making Him Regret Everything (Chloe and Arthur) novel Chapter 345

**A Promise Hidden in the Quiet Rain by Adrian Hale**

**Chapter 345: The New Lady**

After Jennifer had expressed her thoughts, she gently took Jenarth’s small hand in hers, her voice tender as she said, “Jenarth, why don’t you go play in your room for a little while?”

“Okay, Mommy!” Jenarth exclaimed, his excitement bubbling over as he released her hand and dashed up the stairs, deliberately avoiding the fierce glare from Madilyn that burned into his back.

Madilyn’s anger simmered just beneath the surface, her teeth gritted tightly together as she prepared to unleash her wrath. “Jennifer, don’t push your luck. Did Lever even agree to you coming back?” Her voice was a low growl, but before she could continue, Arthur’s calm voice sliced through the tension like a knife.

“I brought Jennifer and Jenarth back,” he announced, stepping into the room with an air of authority that made Madilyn freeze in her tracks. The words of reproach that had been on the tip of her tongue evaporated in an instant.

“Arthur, what is this…?” she started, confusion and disbelief mingling in her tone.

“Mom, I promised to marry Jennifer, and I intend to keep that promise,” Arthur declared firmly, his gaze unwavering. “Tomorrow morning, I’ll take her to the city hall to register our marriage.”

Madilyn was rendered speechless, her mind racing as she struggled to process his words.

“From this moment onward, Jennifer will be the lady of this house. I would appreciate it if you could look after her,” Arthur added, lowering his head slightly as he made his request, a hint of vulnerability in his posture.

Madilyn remained silent, her emotions swirling as she shot a piercing glance at Jennifer. In response, Jennifer wore a smug, self-satisfied smile that seemed to infuriate Madilyn even more.

“Jennifer, take care of yourself. If you need anything, just let my mother know. I’ll be back tomorrow morning to get our marriage certificate,” Arthur said matter-of-factly. “I have some other matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave now.”

“Alright, I’ll be fine. Thank you for giving me a home, Arthur,” Jennifer replied softly, her voice delicate and almost pitifully charming, as if she were a flower blooming in a garden of thorns.

Arthur nodded curtly, his expression unreadable, and turned to leave the room.

As the door closed behind him, Jennifer’s gaze followed him until he was out of sight. The moment the silence enveloped the room, Madilyn’s cold sneer sliced through the air like ice. “He’s gone. You can drop the act now. Tell me, what is your true purpose for coming back?”

Jennifer slowly turned to face Madilyn, her expression unflinching as she met the older woman’s furious glare. Madilyn stood with her arms crossed, her face a storm of anger and disdain.
