She deliberately raised her voice. “Or is this how things usually work at Eaton Kindergarten?”

Chloe’s words made Tracy’s face burn with humiliation.

Keith gave a slight nod. “Ms. Lewis makes a valid point. If you make a wager, you should honor the outcome. Since Robert has demonstrated his innocence, you should keep your word. Anything less would be… unseemly.”

The atmosphere grew thick with tension. After Keith spoke, no one dared to utter a word of protest.

Just moments ago, they had been ganging up on Chloe and Robert. Now, their cheeks burned with shame.

That child, Jenarth—so young, yet he’d risked his own health to frame a classmate. Now, the parents didn’t even have a leg to stand on.

Thinking about what Jenarth had done, and how Robert had stood his ground so firmly, Drew took a determined step forward. His mother tried to grab his arm, but he shook his head and pulled away.

“Mom, I was wrong about Robert. I trusted Jenarth and ended up hurting Robert. Teacher says if you make a mistake, you have to make it right. Mom, I want to apologize to Robert properly.” As he spoke, he tossed the shiny card right at Jenarth’s feet.

“Take it back. I don’t want it anymore,” Drew declared, then marched straight up to Robert, dropped to one knee, and clasped his hands together earnestly. “I’m sorry, Robert. I was wrong. Please forgive me. I… I want to be your friend.”

Robert saw how sincere Drew was, and his expression softened into a gentle smile. “Alright. I forgive you.”
