Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 2500

Over in Willowridge County, Hilltrail Elementary celebrated the tenth anniversary of its school. To commemorate, the school hosted a special parent-child fair.

There were student performances, festive booths, and even a mini sports day for kids and their guardians.

A few days ago, Cassidy had told Heston that she wanted him to come.

As her only legal guardian, he rarely showed up around her classmates or teachers, aside from the occasional visit to the orphanage she lived in.

Even though Lexie kept reassuring him that he looked no different from a normal person on the outside, he still couldn't shake his worry.

What if Cassidy's classmates found out her guardian was the Unmelting Bone and ostracized her? Would she be bullied?

Over the past two years, he had picked up a lot of knowledge online. One topic he had stumbled upon repeatedly was school bullying.

The idea that his existence could mess up Cassidy's chances at a normal social life gnawed at him constantly.

Not knowing what to do, he turned to the only person he could trust, Lexie.

To that, she unhesitatingly stated, "You're going to the school anniversary for sure! Are you worried I might have missions? Don't worry—I'm giving you time off.

"Mike will be coming with me to my hometown in a few days, so just take it easy and go have fun!"

Heston remained insecure. He tilted his head, asking, "What do I… prepare?"

Lexie thought for a moment, recalling what her own school fairs were like when she was a kid.

"Bring some snacks and drinks," she suggested. "Oh, and definitely pick up a pair of matching outfits. That way, people will know at a glance you're her guardian!"

Before he could say anything, she waved decisively. "Actually, forget it—I'll get the outfits, while you just show up. I promise you'll love them!"

So, with his first-ever official time off, Heston followed Cassidy's instructions and showed up at the school on the day of the fair.

Lexie had already sent the other half of the matching outfit to the orphanage director, while Heston changed into his before heading to the school gate.

Just as he was about to walk in, a kid came running past with a sausage-on-a-stick in hand and smacked right into him.

Heston, of course, didn't budge an inch. The kid unsurprisingly bounced back like he had run into a brick wall, stared at his now-floor-bound snack, and immediately burst into tears.

A crying kid was one of Heston's top ten fears. He panicked, crouched down awkwardly, and tried to calm the boy.
