However, when he turned, he saw Lexie staring at him with a baffled look. After a moment, she gave up and just waved it off, letting him be.

As they stepped out of the ancestral tomb, she glanced around and suddenly asked, "You got all your stuff with you?"

Mike nodded after checking his backpack, only to hear her urge, "Good. Since it's still light out, we should head straight back to Seastone now."

"What's the hurry? I ought to at least say thanks to Uncle Dalton. You know, for letting me take the—"

"No need. We're leaving now. Just… trust me," Lexie said, grabbing his arm and power-walking toward the village entrance.

By the time they reached it, Mike noticed the same SUV that had brought them here was still parked by the roadside. Lexie walked right up, fingers moving as she muttered something under her breath.

Then, she waved her hand. A little cotton doll crawled out from under the car, clutching the car key in its arms.
