He’s an Alpha She doesn’t Care novel Chapter 33

Jared

He sat in his office on Friday afternoon and read the report on Carlotti’s behavior around Wynta, and all that she had said, his father had spent the morning inside the pack questioning her. No one had come forward to say they were helping her with anything, but there was one, though it was a wolf not of this pack, but of her old pack that she knew.

He shook his head when reading about how she’d gotten that text message sent to Wynta. She had heard him call Dwane to tell him he was barely landed, and was running late, and realized at that moment that she could have it so that Wynta believed Jared wasn’t coming to get her. She knew that Wynta didn’t drive, so she’d not be able to make it if she wasn’t picked up. She knew half the roads around were flooded, and she knew just how much of a workaholic Wynta was. She also knew it couldn’t be someone from this pack to help her. She needed someone that liked money and didn’t care about anyone bar themselves.

She’d heard Edward discussing with his unit once that Wynta worked longer office hours than he liked, that she often worked late, and sometimes just worked on weekends, because he thought she was bored; that being a rogue meant having little social life.

She also knew that Wynta didn’t want to be a part of the pack, everyone knew how she found ways to get out of coming to mating balls, that there was a deal between her and his father on how she had to be brought into the pack. She had to willingly set foot on the actual pack. territory. So, a message like what she had devised, and had that wolf send, would see that Wynta would take it, as Jared was uncaring to pick up a rogue at all.

So, she’d just not be home, she’d go back to work, and Jared wouldn’t know that because he knew nothing about her, or that message. That he would likely think she’d found another way. to get there, because of how late he was or that she just didn’t want to go and so had opted out, and wasn’t home on purpose; avoiding being picked up.

Carlotti had not only had to give that wolf, money, but he’d demanded that the transaction had to go through before he’d even be willing to consider helping her. Then he’d demanded to see her bank balance and opted to take every dollar of what she’d had saved in there, because it wasn’t all that much, she’d given him every cent she’d had that day. To get what she wanted.

But because the amount was so low, barely five thousand, and that he’d been smart enough to see her actions could fall back on him, seeing as his pack was affiliated with hers, he didn’t think just five grand would cut it, so she’d also had to agree to a s**** favor, in order to get him to send that text as well. Then, to make sure she held up her end of that part of the deal, he’d threatened her that if she didn’t do the s*x acts that he wanted, he’d just send Jared and Edward the screenshots of their messages, to let him know she was plotting against one they not only wanted to bring in, but she was interfering in the duty of the Alpha’s son to bring that woman in. So even if she deleted it on her end, he’d still have the evidence.

His father had pushed that a bit harder to see if she had gone through with it. She had, but it hadn’t been like she’d thought it would, just him and her having s*x once. No, she’d had to allow herself to be bedded by him, for however long he saw fit in whatever way he wanted.

He’d had her there for well over 12 hours, and she’d had to do whatever he demanded of her, and with his friends sitting around watching on, the girl had been fully humiliated by that wolf. and all for him sending a single text message. But because it did show traitorous tendencies, she had to comply for fear of being outed and branded a pack traitor.

His father had pushed even harder on that because it was seen as overkill on that male wolf’s part. He’d thought something else was going on, and he’d been right, with further questioning under an order he’d found out not only had she and that wolf been Mates at 18, but she’d also rejected him because he was nothing inside their home pack.

It was payback on his part, for the way she’d gone about rejecting him, and a way to get to have s*x with her, his rejected Mate, and humiliate her for humiliating him with that rejection she’d voiced. Which had been in front of all his friends, where she had stated she’d never have s*x with him, let alone mate herself to one such as him.

Those friends who’d seen that rejection were all there and had stood or sat around and watched. She’d not known the were going to be there watching until she’d turned up to have s*x with him. She’d also not known it was going to be how he’d made it. Just though it would be a one–off s*x act not multiple accounts in every humiliating position there was,

demanding things of her to do to him for all to see. With one of his friends sitting there ready to push the send button to her own Alpha and out her.

And all in order just to get Wynta not to come into the pack, which had worked. But then she’d come home to the pack after all that humiliation at the hands of her ex, only to hear Wynta was inside the pack. Jared had found her and brought her in.

All her efforts and humiliation had been in vain. She now believed all she’d just been through was Wynta’s fault; she’d suffered that humiliation for nothing now.

Although her reason for targeting Wynta in the first place, that had been interesting to read. It stemmed from her hearing his own father talking about that he thought Wynta would be a good Mate for Jared. That his own father was pushing that agenda to get Wynta to be more social and hopefully a pack member, and then he was going to bring Jared home and put him in front of Wynta in the hope that Jared would scent her out.

His father hadn’t left that out of the report. He knew Jared was going to read it as well, he just shook his head. His old man also knew Jared wouldn’t accept anyone that wasn’t hist Goddess–Gifted. So, it didn’t matter what his father thought or said to him, even for Jared, unless that band on his wrist lit up to prove he’d scented out his Mate he wouldn’t mate himself to anyone.

Jared’s thoughts on Carlotti staging her accident were also right, she’d done that on purpose. and all to be seen arriving with him, as Dwane had thought originally. The girl hadn’t really done anything to Wynta at all at that point, only had that text sent, her acting against Wynta had started that very day.

She’d not really had any ideas about how to go about getting herself mated to one of the Alpha’s sons and being ranked up above everyone, until after Lance had found Raelynn, and then she’d thought because Lance was now the future Alpha to the pack and all Edwards‘ other sons were relegated to nothing, she could snare one of them for herself.

She thought that they’d all take a chosen Luna now, but it was only Jared that didn’t really know her, so he was the best one to attach herself to, and that was also because of the things that she’d heard Edward himself state, about having Jared and Wynta being Mates.

This she thought was the best time to get rid of Wynta. No one would know it was her, but think it was Jared’s fault, and she’d comfort and console him over it, so he’d like her and that would see them bond and come together.

It all came down to that because Wynta was his father’s choice for his son, Wynta would be a Chosen Mate, so it was clear to her that Jared was willing to take a Chosen Mate now. What the girl hadn’t considered was that it didn’t matter, if Lance had found his Mate, she’d not really read the pack laws in full; only taken from it what she wanted.

But his father had cleared that up for her, telling her exactly how it was, regardless that Lance. was now marked and Mated, Jared could still be the official heir if he found his Mate and had an heir before 100 she’d been very confused about it, didn’t seem to understand the laws of ascension to this pack at all. They kind of went over her head, so she’d made what she wanted of them.

She now knew how very wrong she had been, and was still sitting in a cell for now, his father was undecided about what to do with her. He had no idea if she was going to continue to target Wynta or not.

As for her turning up in the office and not being seen in Wynta’s office to slap her, that had come from one of the humans in there, she’d befriended a woman named Jamie. Who was at supervisor on the marketing floor, and she’d told her the information she wanted on the security system roll out, because Jamie also didn’t like Wynta, and wanted her gone from the office too.

He sighed and shook his head. He called the head of HR to meet him on the marketing floor, at Jamie Sullivan’s office. She was getting fired for giving out security details to a non–employee, which had led to the assault of one of the actual employees where no evidence of it could be produced.

He strolled onto the marketing floor with Dwane next to him to wait for HR. She’d told him they had to get some formalized paperwork ready, so there would be a smooth exit from the building, and that they’d meet him there shortly.

Dwane was casually leaning on Jamie’s door holding down a regular conversation. That woman was openly flirting with his Beta, touching her hair and laughing. Jared walked over to Wynta’s office and knocked on her door but didn’t step inside. “Yes, Mr Hayes.” She stated, though he did note she was standing in their pulling her coat on, looked ready to leave the office.

“We found the one that gave Carlotti the security information, and she’ll be getting handed her notice today.”

He saw her eyes move towards Dwane and then back to him, and he nodded to indicate she was right. She said nothing much, just picked her handbag up and stepped round her desk.

“Where are you going?” he asked out of curiosity. It was only just after lunchtime, and she looked ready to leave the building.

“I’ve got physio this afternoon. If I don’t leave now I’ll miss my taxi. Excuse my Mr Hayes, she stated, and he stepped back from the doorway to let her pass him. To which she did, just walked off, had a quick word with her team and she was gone off to the elevator. She didn’t even so much as look back at him or Dwane.
