HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 265

“There’s nothing,” Felicia said with a wide smile. “Really, Daven, I support you—whatever decision you make.”

“Do you?” Daven leaned forward, resting his face in his hands, his gaze locking on hers. “Because somehow, I can’t bring myself to just take your word for it.”

Felicia pouted. “But I do support you.”

“Enough,” he said flatly. “Tell me why you’re here.”

She hesitated for a few seconds before finally speaking. “It’s about your son, Joshua Grayson.”

The name hit Daven like a stone. His body stiffened, his eyes betraying the jolt of surprise at hearing his sister utter that name. “Did you… hear something from Mother?”

“Yes. She told me about their meeting. She’s still blaming you, of course—mainly Althea, for hiding Josh all this time.”

Daven let out a slow, heavy breath. He removed his glasses and pressed his fingers against his temples. “I don’t care if Mom keeps pointing fingers at Althea. To me, Althea isn’t the one at fault. I am. And if Mother insists on treating her that way, then I won’t allow her anywhere near Josh.”

Felicia’s lips curved into a faint smile. “I support that decision, Daven.”

Daven studied her closely. Something about Felicia’s behavior was off. “You’ve never liked Althea. I’d expect you to side with Mother, not me. And yet here you are… defending me. That’s not like you, Felicia.” He leaned in slightly, his gaze sharp. “So tell me—what’s your real agenda?”

“Oh, for heaven’s sake.” Felicia laughed lightly. “I don’t have an agenda. I’m supporting you because it’s the least I can do now. After everything we’ve been through—no, everything you’ve been through. Especially because of Vanessa. Do you really think I can just stand by after all that?”

Daven said nothing.

“I’m not pushing to meet him in person,” Felicia added quickly, though her voice betrayed a hint of curiosity. “But I am dying to know what Josh Grayson looks like. Mother said he’s the spitting image of you when you were little.”

“Maybe.” Daven’s tone softened a fraction, though his guard didn’t fully drop. “What I do know is that he has the same eyes as me. Blue.”

Felicia’s expression softened, touched. “So… was he also dragged into Vanessa’s drama? When that woman tried to smear Althea—accusing her of using a child to seduce you?”
