How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 30

"That's what I said to him," Todd agreed, equally baffled. "I told him he needs to move on. She's married now, there's nothing he can do. A guy like him can find any woman he wants. Don't you agree, Mrs. Brown?"

Monica frowned. "You're right. I need to go talk some sense into him."

After hanging up with Todd, Monica went straight to Yvan's room and knocked on the door. "Yvan? Are you asleep? If you don't answer, I'm coming in."

A moment later, the door opened, and Yvan stood there, his face pale and haggard. He looked like he had lost weight in a single day, and Monica's heart ached for him.

"Yvan, Todd told me everything. I had no idea you were such a romantic. But she's married now. You have to accept it. There are plenty of other fish in the sea…"

"Mom, just stop," Yvan interrupted impatiently. "I'll handle my own problems."

"And how are you handling them? By hiding in your room and starving yourself?" Monica shot back, her temper flaring.

"I'm not going to starve," Yvan said before slamming the door in her face.

"Well…Honestly, that child," Monica sighed, shaking her head.

She couldn't help but wonder, who was this Winifred, this woman who had her son in such a state?

After being recognized by Yvan that day, Winifred found herself haunted by old memories and was in low spirits for a while, but she soon managed to pull herself together.

Her history with Yvan was in the past. It didn't matter if he had recognized her or what his intentions were. She had made up her mind: she would not get involved with him again.

A few days later, after her shift ended, Winifred left the hospital holding the hand of a little girl who looked to be about four or five years old.

The girl was Delia, the daughter of her colleague, Nancy. A few days ago, Nancy's mother had taken a fall and broken a bone, requiring hospitalization.
