How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 35

Winifred hailed a cab home.

In the car, she stared at the hand Yvan had held, clenching it and then unclenching it.

Warm and dry, just like before. The sensation of his touch seemed to linger on her palm.

Winifred gazed at her hand, Yvan's face appearing unbidden in her mind.

He had a mature, masculine air he hadn't possessed before, but his temper was the same—impulsive and unyielding, never compromising.

But why was he there? Was it a coincidence, or had he been looking for her?

Winifred clenched her fist again. Whether it was coincidence or intentional, she wanted nothing more to do with him.

The next morning, Winifred arrived at her department, turned on her computer, and prepared to start her day.

But she froze when she saw Yvan's name on her screen.

"Dr. Spencer, may I come in?"

Yvan appeared at the door, knocking lightly.

Winifred's knuckles turned white. "What are you doing here?"

"I have an appointment." Yvan sat down across from her, pointing to a bruise on his face. "I injured this area last night."

Winifred glanced at it. "You should go to the surgical department for that."

"It hurt my gums," Yvan said. "The spot where I had a tooth pulled started bleeding last night."

"Then open your mouth and let me see." Winifred picked up a cotton swab and a penlight.

Yvan opened his mouth, and Winifred leaned closer. She could smell that faint scent of his, now mingled with the smell of antiseptic.

"It's just a small tear. Nothing serious." Winifred tossed the swab away. "It will heal on its own in a few days. No treatment needed."

Yvan touched his cheek. "Really? But it hurts a lot. I can barely eat."

"...Then apply an ice pack. All medicine has side effects, so there's no need for painkillers."

Yvan looked at her. "Alright, I'll listen to you."
