Sebastian sent, "If you block me, I'll make sure to tell anyone who asks about it tomorrow that you bit me."
Valeria muted his messages and tossed the phone aside.
After ten minutes, Valeria felt like her sleepiness was completely gone. So, she picked up her phone and saw that he had sent a few more messages.
She took a deep breath and replied, "What about you, Mr. Grant? You broke into a woman's house in the middle of the night with the excuse of being drunk. What exactly were you trying to do?"
It was midnight in Slate City.
The car was driving on a wide road. As the car entered the bustling commercial district, the city lights dazzled the eye.
Sebastian stared at the scenery flashing past the car window. The light flashed on his face as the car drove on.
Valeria's question played on Sebastian's mind.
What was he trying to do? He definitely had impure intentions.
When Sebastian went to work at Slate City Medical Center, it seemed like everyone he passed turned to look at him. After he passed, they started to whisper.
"What's up with Dr. Grant's mouth?"
"That's a pretty big wound. It looks like a bite mark."
"Who else could have bitten him there? It must have been a girlfriend."
"Anyone dare to go ask Dr. Grant about it?"
"I wouldn't dare to gossip in front of him. I heard that…"
"Hey, keep it down. Look, Ruby's expression looks horrible."
The group caught sight of Ruby approaching in a white coat. Her expression was dark as she glared at the nurse who had been gossiping the loudest. "It's working hours. Maybe focus on your job instead of spreading gossip."
Clenching her fists, Ruby waited two hours outside the operating room until Sebastian finally emerged.
"Don't waste your energy on me. I'm not interested in you. This is a hospital, I don't have time for personal matters right now. Dr. Gardner, until next time."
Then, Sebastian quickly walked away.
He pushed open the door to Shawn's office. Inside were four people—Shawn and his two assistants, as well as a young doctor from Shawn's cardiothoracic team, Jamie York. Their attention was immediately focused on Sebastian's lips.
Shawn adjusted his glasses as his eyes gleamed with curiosity.
In fact, before Sebastian even stepped in, the office had been buzzing with talk about that bite mark for quite a while.
Sitting down in front of the computer, Sebastian could feel all their eyes still on him. He let out a short, helpless laugh.
Did they really have to stare like that just because he got bitten once?
Valeria had definitely bitten him hard. That morning, he even had to drink his water through a straw.
Thankfully, he hadn't been back at the Grant residence. Otherwise, Martha's eyes would have widened so much that they might have popped out of their sockets.
