Honora had once again underestimated Larissa’s audacity.
She had planned on showcasing her talents tonight to overshadow Larissa, but not like this. Never like this.
Larissa had just put her on the spot in the most humiliating way possible.
Fortunately, the reputation she had spent years building in Regal City’s elite circles still held weight, and many people spoke up for her.
“Honora’s talent in the arts is top-tier, not just in Regal City but across the country. She consistently won first or second place in every competition she entered. She wasn’t exaggerating.”
“Exactly. Larissa is being arrogant by challenging her so openly.”
“It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but Honora is a genuinely talented woman. So what if Larissa can dance? Just like Honora said, she’s probably only good for farming and housework.”
Honora was confident in her abilities. When it came to the arts, she had never lost to any of her peers. It was, after all, why Zoltan Palmer had chosen her as a potential match for Haskell from among so many other eligible young women.
Kiernan remained silent. Ever since Larissa had won Zoltan’s approval, he had adopted a hands-off approach, letting her do as she pleased as long as Zoltan didn't object.
Paxton and Vivica, though visibly displeased, didn’t dare make a scene in front of Kiernan, not after Leopold’s earlier stunt with the gown.
Knowing Larissa was trying to corner Honora, Leopold scoffed. “Why would Honora be afraid? Honora, show her what you’ve got! Make her accept her defeat once and for all!”
