Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 129

Larissa just shrugged.

“Fine, Larissa. You’ll remember this!” Leopold snarled. “If anything happens to Mom, I will make you pay!”

“I’ll be waiting,” Larissa replied nonchalantly. “Just make sure you’re not all talk.”

After Vivica, Leopold, and Honora were finally gone, the anger from Leopold’s words still lingered in Sapphira’s chest, a heavy, uncomfortable weight. It took her a few moments to compose herself before she turned to Larissa.

“Larissa, Vivica… she won’t actually be in any danger, will she?”

Larissa smiled. Her new mother was too kind, still worrying about Vivica’s well-being after everything.

“Don’t worry, Mom, she’ll be fine. I just couldn’t stand by while she tried to bully you, so I gave her a little punishment.”

Sapphira understood immediately. Vivica’s sudden collapse was Larissa’s doing. The moment she knew Vivica wasn’t in any real danger, her anger flared anew.

“It’s not like I’m afraid of her! I’m just furious at the things they said to you! How can they be so cruel? The second they realized flattery wasn’t working, they turned on you again!”

“Mom, their nasty words don’t bother me, so you shouldn’t let them upset you either,” Larissa said soothingly. “All that stress will give you wrinkles, and those are so hard to get rid of.”

The comment made Sapphira laugh despite herself. “I’m nearly fifty. A few more wrinkles are to be expected.”

Although she was Vivica’s sister-in-law by marriage, she was actually two years younger, having just turned forty-six.

“But they shouldn’t be caused by the likes of Leopold,” Larissa insisted. “Otherwise, I’ll have to add that to their tab.”
