Paxton’s expression turned severe. “Have you thought this through? Once you sign that document, your mother and I will truly have nothing more to do with you.”
Larissa looked at him. “That’s a laugh, Uncle Paxton. As if you’ve had anything to do with me for the past twenty years.”
Neville’s voice was firm. “You don’t need to worry about that, Paxton. Sapphira and I will take good care of Larissa.”
Seeing that Larissa’s mind was made up, Kiernan didn’t press the issue.
“Larissa, I will have Jett draw up the agreement tomorrow.”
With that, he allowed Jett to escort him from the villa.
“Okay, thank you, Grandpa. Take care,” Larissa said with a smile. She then turned to face the four pairs of resentful eyes still glaring at her.
“Well, Uncle Paxton, Aunt Vivica, Grandpa has left. Why are you still lingering? Are you hoping for another scolding?”
“Larissa, we were right not to want you,” Vivica spat. “You’re nothing but a traitor to your own family!”
“Mom, let’s not waste our breath on her. Let’s go,” Leopold said, feeling utterly humiliated after being reprimanded by his grandpa.
“Larissa, I hope you don’t come crawling back to us for forgiveness one day.” He let out a cold snort and took Honora’s hand, leading her away.
Paxton had hoped to use the incident to tarnish Larissa’s image in Kiernan’s eyes, making her easier to control later. He had never imagined his biological daughter would be so calculating.
“I really underestimated you,” he said, then turned and left.
