Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 57

After Jett left, Sapphira turned to Larissa, her expression serious. “Paxton and Vivica are undoubtedly going to use the fact that you are the true heiress to tell your grandpa that you should be the one to marry Haskell instead of Honora. So, I have to ask you one more time: are you sure you want to marry him?”

“I’m sure,” Larissa said without a moment’s hesitation. The memory of her dream made her add in a whisper, “In fact, I hope we can get married as soon as possible.”

That way, she could touch him to her heart's content, and it’ll be perfectly legal.

Sapphira didn’t catch the last part. “What?”

“Nothing,” Larissa said quickly. “Just that I am one hundred percent sure I want to marry Haskell.”

Seeing no doubt in her eyes and knowing how strong-willed she was, Sapphira didn’t press the issue. “Alright. Your father and I have already said we’ll support you in whatever you decide.”

In the main hall, Vivica, Honora, and Leopold were already waiting when Larissa arrived. Honora wore a confident smirk.

“Larissa, you’re here,” Vivica said. “You’ve come back to the Judson family at a very opportune time. You get to marry Haskell as the family’s true heiress.”

Sapphira spoke up, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “You really know how to spin a tale. If Haskell hadn’t been in that accident last month and become crippled, would you be so eager for Larissa to marry him? You weren’t this enthusiastic about bringing her home. But now that you need her to take your precious adopted daughter’s place, you’re all for it.”

Vivica understood Sapphira’s mockery perfectly, but now that the disownment papers were signed, there was no need to pretend. “You should be thanking me,” she retorted. “I’m the one who let you and your husband bring Larissa back. And now she’s willing to call you ‘Mom.’ Isn’t that what you always wanted? A child of your own?”
