That was where Xavier's confidence stemmed from. After knowing what happened, Grenn exclaimed hurriedly, "Your mana is boundless, and your aura is strong. I understand now."
Green was on the verge of being shocked into immobility by Xavier's aura, and it was difficult even for him to circulate the mana within him.
Baldwin, who stood not far away, wore a look of surprise in his eyes. He did not expect that Xavier could show such remarkable talent in addition to a rapid growth in strength.
After a few moments of pondering, Baldwin stated calmly, "In that case, we deal with Eastplain." He had already made up his mind to devise a plan—if he could consume a significant amount of energy and blood, then there was hope for his true form to be unsealed!
Once he had received the consent of both parties, Xavier grinned slightly and stood with his hands clasped behind his back. He gazed into the distance, and his cloudy eyes gleamed with murderous intent.
"I am but one step away from achieving immortality. No one will be able to stop me, not even the Eastplain's eight families or Severin from the Grandiuno Sacred Land!" Xavier's figure then became fainter and fainter until it disappeared without a trace.
As Grenn wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, he trembled and said to Baldwin, "Is he out of his mind? He seems intent on challenging the entire Eastplain by himself!"
Baldwin shook his head and sneered, "He hasn't lost it yet. He simply understands that Eastplain possesses the necessary nourishment needed to achieve immortality."
"Nourishment?" Grenn was momentarily stunned and struggling to grasp the implication.
Yet he did not expect Xavier to show the kind of desperate pursuit of immortality that would entail devouring half-immortals from Eastplain's eight great families.
After coming back to his senses, Grenn licked his lips and rose to his feet with a fervent gleam in his eyes. "Since we're set on attacking Eastplain, then I'll return to my land and gather my disciples."
Consuming other people was a method that everyone knew about. Grenn, having a fearsome reputation himself, had no qualms about joining Xavier in that pursuit of immortality. If Xavier was willing to go to such lengths, Grenn saw no reason not to follow suit.
Grenn's sudden change of heart elicited a faint smile from Baldwin. He raised his head and gazed into the sky with a cold determination in his eyes. "I will eat you one day, Severin!"
