Life After Prison by Silencieux novel Chapter 2868

As strong as Adrian was, he had unfortunately sustained severe injuries in his battles at the northern and eastern seas. Whether or not he would ever regain his peak strength remained to be seen.

Baldwin nodded in agreement and praised Xavier, "You are powerful, and Adrian is but a mere toothless tiger before you!"

Following a pause, however, he goaded at Xavier. "You still need to be careful of Severin though. He possesses the Green Emperor's Pagoda and has tremendous combat strength too."

Baldwin was still shaken from his last encounter with Severin in the Eastern Sea, where Severin displayed a combat prowess that rivaled that of a level nine paragon despite only being level six. By relying on the Oculus Blade and the Green Emperor's Pagoda, Severin could easily gain the upper hand against Baldwin.

Throughout his life, Baldwin had never encountered such a formidable opponent. He already had a feeling that Severin would become a very serious threat if not dealt with soon.

As a result, Baldwin did not even think twice about stoking a fire in the arrogant Xavier.

Seeing 'Baldwin', the Ancestora clone, showing fear to a supreme paragon like Severin filled Xavier with contempt. He sneered, "Hah! He's still an insignificant speck, one with luck on his side. We don't need to fear him." Xavier then boasted, "I have forged my path. With just a bit more spiritual energy, my physical form will transcend mortality. Having consumed the essence of three semi-immortals and inscribed the rules upon my being, a mere supreme paragon is nothing before me. Those who challenge me are overestimating themselves."

Baldwin nodded in agreement, "Indeed, your strength is below only that of a true immortal, and even then, the immortals ought to bow in deference to you! Should Severin ever dare to confront you, he will find himself reduced to nothing but ash."

As Xavier remained oblivious to that threat, Baldwin gained precious time to forge ahead with the plan to free himself. 'This will be your only time to rejoice,' Baldwin thought to himself, 'by the time you notice that something isn't right, it would already be too late!'

Amused by Xavier's obliviousness, Baldwin approached him and flattered, "Let me dismantle the formation on your behalf."

With that, he conjured a boundless black wind, poised to shatter the surrounding formation. As he was about to strike, ripples appeared suddenly in the space surrounding them.
