At the same time, Xavier raised his right hand and formed it into a claw to intercept the incoming fist. The divine power of the Stellar Punch burst like a bubble upon contact, yet the force that Xavier had produced continued its trajectory at lightning speed toward Severin.
Laskin hastily warned despite his faltering energy levels, "Be careful! That attack contains the entire might of the Primordial Sacred Land!"
Three half-immortals had perished in the Eastplain. The other major families were incredibly fearful of what might befall them, hence their decision to fortify their abodes and activate several protective formations. When the Menzies came under attack earlier, Laskin had already sent out a distress signal to the other families. Though he remained puzzled over why aid had not yet arrived, the Grandiuno Sacred Land's presence gave him much hope.
Alarm bells were going off in Severin's mind when he realized that his Stellar Punch had been thwarted. He swiftly positioned the Green Emperor's Pagoda above his head and activated its protective capabilities. After making several hand seals, the Pagoda emitted an almost boundless green light that formed a shield around Severin's body.
Xavier's palm print crashed heavily onto the Green Emperor's Pagoda, sending sparks flying. Severin felt as though his chest had been struck by a mountain—he was out of breath but also out of harm's way thanks to the pagoda's protection.
Xavier's expression soured, and he launched another attack, this time channeling the terror of the law. After knocking back Severin, Xavier seized the brief moment to redirect his focus toward Laskin and deliver a powerful slap.
Having absorbed the power of the three half-immortals, Xavier had reached the transformative stage which made him virtually invincible among half-immortals. With a wave of his hand, he summoned a fan-shaped spiritual treasure that unleashed a barrage of fire dragons to engulf the severely injured Laskin.
The onset of unusual phenomena, especially that of blood rain, was characteristic of half-immortal deaths. The nine heavens roared with thunder, and rules seemed to collapse while space ended up becoming fragmented.
Meanwhile, Xavier seemed to be relatively unscathed despite being the closest to the explosion. He emerged from the smoke and dust in as strong an aura as ever, despite his divine radiance dimming somewhat and his robes ending up tattered. Those who saw him would feel a sense of suffocation.
Severin's heart sank. He had known that Xavier was formidable, but he did not anticipate Xavier's strength to be so strong that not even a half-immortal's self-destruction could harm him.
