Life After Prison by Silencieux novel Chapter 2873

Xavier's towering figure stood unwavering amongst the shockwave of Laskin's self-destruction, much like that of a whose roots clung hard to the ground. A smug grin graced his lips, as if to mock Laskin's incompetence in self-destruction.

"Hahaha, even half-immortals are nothing before my power!" Xavier said with a maniacal laughter as he glanced intently at Severin with a sudden glint of coldness.

If half-immortals were mere weaklings to him, then a level seven supreme paragon like Severin would certainly be among the weakest of them. In his view, the weak should know where they stood, and seeing the audacity of a lowly weakling like Severin to attack him had incited Xavier's fury completely.

His fury was fueled by an intense avarice as he laid eyes on the Green Emperor's Pagoda above Severin's head. "An immortal weapon like that would be useless in the hands of someone like you!" Xavier laughed and advanced forward with a predatory gleam.

Xavier flung his sleeves back and a hazy light soon enveloped his entire being. His appearance at that moment could be likened to an ancient god emerging from primordial chaos—a sight that would strike fear in anyone who laid eyes on him.

When Severin noticed Xavier's covetous gaze, he immediately sensed that trouble was afoot. Without any further ado, he positioned the Oculus Blade in a defensive position and assumed a defensive stance.

At the same time, Severin had a bad feeling about the whole situation too. Laskin had resorted to self-destruction in an attempt to end Xavier, but that effort had proven futile. Severin felt that there would be hardly anyone who could be strong enough to save him in his current predicament.

All of a sudden, four figures exuding a terrifying half-immortal aura tore through the fabric of space and materialized before them. Led by a gray-haired old man who exuded an aura of age and experience, they hovered over the battlefield and glanced grimly at the devastation wrought upon the Menzies. The old man's murderous intent surged forth as he shot Xavier a hostile stare.

In response, Xavier erupted into laughter. With his path perfected and his attainment reaching the transformative stage, he was already on the cusp of immortality. His strength rendered him virtually invincible among those on the same level as him, and he was capable of slaying half-immortals too.

"How dare you spout such nonsense at me," Xavier sneered as his eyes ignited with a fighting spirit. He was on the brink of losing his sanity after being driven mad by the lure of immortality. In Xavier's eyes, the half-immortal ancestors of the major Eastplain families were nothing more than fodder for his cause, and he was determined not to let that opportunity go to waste!

Following that derisive retort, Xavier unleashed a sweeping black palm toward Holbur.

"Still stubborn, I see!" Holbur roared, unleashing the full breadth of his power as a half-immortal. At the same time, the other three half-immortals produced their protective divine weapons and encased themselves in a defensive shield as they charged towards Xavier.
