Explosions thundered across the sky, and the resounding echoes reverberated through the air as shockwaves rippled through the space within a thousand-mile radius.
Holbur, who led the charge, brandished a purple spear. It's cold light shimmered with formidable rules. A single thrust was all it took to pierce through the void, causing even the ground and sky to undergo a seismic shift.
The remaining three half-immortals, who were as powerful as Holbur, wielded their formidable weapons with fierce determination. Saddened and enraged by Laskin's forced self-destruction at the hands of Xavier, they unleashed a torrent of attacks upon him. United by their shared heritage as former subordinates of the Green Emperor, they harbored a deep animosity toward Xavier and spared no effort in their assault.
The waves resulting from the battle between half-immortals spread throughout the entire Eastplain, leaving everyone feeling a sense of dread.
Severin soon realized that he was not strong enough to help out on that front, so he immediately decided to focus his efforts on assisting Carson and the others in dispatching the remaining Primordial Sacred Land practitioners.
Meanwhile, in Midland, Baldwin returned to the confines of the Primordial Sacred Land in a state of disarray. His expression was sullen, and upon his arrival, he encountered Grenn stationed at the sect's entrance.
Though the assault on Eastplain was spearheaded by Xavier and Baldwin, it owed much to the manpower from the Primordial Sacred Land. Grenn, who guarded the sacred land at the entrance, aimed to safeguard their stronghold and avoid losing their territory.
He wanted to bring reinforcements to aid in the invasion of Eastplain, but the demise of Horra and Seren—the latter being the leader of the Wicked Tribe—left Grenn as the sole remaining powerhouse among the two major malevolent sacred lands. Other supreme paragons from the two sacred lands have either not reached level nine, or had guard duty at the base camp of Cesun and Lasbonrket. Short of making clones of themselves, they would not be able to devote the time and attention to other matters.
Baldwin's bloodied and injured state startled Grenn, who hurriedly approached him with concern. "What happened?" he inquired urgently.
His face drained of all colour as he rose to his feet and said to Baldwin, "I'll have to trouble you to keep watch here. I must help Xavier."
Grenn was already bound to the fate of the Primordial Sacred Land, and he could not bear to witness Xavier's defeat because he knew that the consequences would be dire.
Having already incurred the ire of the Grandiuno Sacred Land, Northsea's barbarics, and the people at Greatflare, Xavier's defeat would have a significant ieffect on their plans. With four half-immortals from Eastplain killed, the remaining families would definitely want to seek retribution.
Even Xavier's strength might falter against the odds of going up against four half-immortals. Having taken all that into consideration, Grenn tore open the space around him and disappeared into a spatial passage.
