Love beyond the mask (Whitney) novel Chapter 1240

“Sienna!” Emma hobbled over as fast as she could, leaning heavily on her cane.

The doctor quickly pressed Sienna’s pressure point above her upper lip. “She’s trapped in a nightmare. Looks like she’s been through a lot.”

“Sandy, please don’t hurt me, I’m begging you…”

“Sienna! It’s Grandma! What’s Sandy done to you? Don’t be scared, sweetheart! What are you talking about? What did Shane do to you, honey?”

Emma’s voice trembled with fear, her eyes brimming with tears.

Mrs. Nelson stared at Sienna, lying in bed, muttering nonsense, her face ghostly pale. A chill settled deep in her heart.

Why would Sienna mention Shane…

She tried to speak, but the doctor was still tending to Sienna, and Emma was sobbing, clutching Sienna’s hand desperately.

After a few tense minutes, Sienna gasped for air and finally opened her eyes.

“Sienna! Wake up, honey, you nearly scared Grandma to death!” Emma shook her gently, shouting, “If anything ever happened to you, I don’t think I could go on, darling!”

“Grandma! I don’t even want to live anymore, I—” Sienna broke down, clutching Emma and sobbing uncontrollably. “Why did Shane do this to me? They sent people to… to hurt me, Grandma, I don’t want to live, just let me go…”

“W-what?” Emma’s face froze in shock, her voice rising in panic.

Mrs. Nelson’s hand faltered as she turned away, horrified. “Sienna, you can’t just say things like that.”

“What the hell happened?!” Gary demanded, storming into the room, his jaw clenched.

Sienna recoiled in fear, gripping Emma’s cardigan, her face drained of all color. She finally looked up at everyone. “Am I really at the Nelsons’? Am I safe? Am I really safe?”

But when I got there—I found Mr. Nelson and Sandy… in bed together.

My heart just shattered. You were already talking about us getting engaged, but Mr. Nelson… he’d already—Sandy had gotten to him.

I suspected something was off before, but I kept quiet. Sandy’s my sister, after all. I thought maybe she was just jealous, but she’d never go that far.

I kept it to myself, didn’t want to cause trouble for the Nelsons.

But last night, after I caught them, Sandy lost it. She said she’d make sure I never told anyone. She got a bunch of drunk guys to—” Sienna’s voice broke.

“I argued with them, tried to fight back.

But Mr. Nelson—he didn’t care about right or wrong anymore. Sandy had him completely under her spell. Not only did he ignore my pleas, he helped Sandy tie me up!”
