“Sienna, cut the act. Last night, you clearly tried to drug me, and then—”
Shane’s words were cut off by a terrified scream from the bed.
Sienna shrieked, scrambling away from the head of the bed to the foot, her wide eyes fixed on Sandy as if she were the Big Bad Wolf. She stammered, voice pitched with panic, “Grandma! She’s here—they’re going to drag me off again, let those creeps hurt me… Shane, I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have tried to mess up things between you and Sandy. I can’t fight you two. I’ll hide—Mrs. Nelson, please, help me, save me.
I’ve already been ruined. I’m filthy. Don’t make me see him again.
Don’t come any closer, or I swear I’ll end it right now!”
“She’s way too agitated,” the doctor muttered, trying to restrain Sienna as she thrashed and tried to bang her head against the wall.
Gary’s gaze grew colder as he watched his son. Sienna’s desperate meltdown didn’t seem fake. “Shane, did you actually do something this vile?”
“May lightning strike me if I did! Can’t you see she’s putting on a show?” Shane snarled, turning to Sienna. “Drop the cheap theatrics. You’re trying to drag Sandy down with you—shameless as ever.”
He turned to his parents, his voice sharp. “Get this straight: last night, she tried to set me up. She kidnapped Tina just to find my apartment. She was hiding there, waiting for me to come home—drunk and out cold.
This piece of work spiked my hangover soup and tried to force it down my throat!
If Whitney and Sandy hadn’t shown up in time and ruined her little plan, I’d be framed for assault right now, forced to marry her and all!”
Shane paused, the realization hitting him, and shot a cold glare at Emma. He sneered, “Maybe Sienna’s not smart enough to pull this off solo, but she’s got someone backing her up! And who called the paparazzi at 3AM? Sure wasn’t me. They wanted a scandalous shot of me and Sienna together, right? Isn’t that so, Emma?”
She used the Sheldon family name like a hammer, and Gary’s face darkened. He stepped toward Sienna, trying to sound reasonable. “Sienna, you and Shane are telling completely different stories. Neither of you has any proof. How are we supposed to know who to believe?”
“What more proof do you need?” Emma shot back, her voice rising. “Look at the bruises all over Sienna! She’s nearly lost her mind. You think she did that to herself? Really?”
Shane let out a cold, dismissive laugh. “Bruises don’t mean she was actually assaulted. Sienna, you keep accusing me—fine. Let’s go to the hospital for a medical exam right now!”
Emma gripped her cane so hard her knuckles turned white.
Sienna’s eyes filled with tears as she suddenly collapsed from the bed to the floor, sobbing.
