Chapter 109 Alpha

Anton’s p.o.v.

I am lying in my bed, staring at the ceiling as I try to wrap my head around the past year.

My best friend is dead, due to his own stupid behavior. If he had just been able to accept life for what is was, he might still be alive today and I would probably be the Beta of Crimson Moon Pack. But that would also mean that a lot of Wolves, Lycans and other shifters were still living without justice for the crimes committed against them.

My birth Pack doesn’t exist anymore, because of my friend’s stupidity and I found a family I didn’t know existed. Grandma still insists on sunday dinner and with the entire family present it is a loud, messy and chaotic event, but I also know that none of us would want to miss it for anything in the world.

Today is sunday and as usual I am awake too early, training doesn’t start for another hour or so. I love training with our Elite Warriors, we depend a lot on each other when we have to travel to a Pack that has broken the Law and by training with them we all know what we have in each other. It took our Pack–members about six months to stop increasing in strength, speed and height.

We had just returned from Crimson Moon Pack when someone pointed out that his clothes were a little too tight and Bastian pulled out all the stops. Every Pack–member had to report to the infirmary and Doc wrote down everyone’s height, repeating this every single week.

Our Omegas were the first group to come to a stop, but it was clear to see that they were happy with everything they gained. Our Elite Warriors were the last group to come to a stop and I think most of them welcomed it wholeheartedly. Most Pack–members gained about an inch or two in height, but our Elite Warriors and our leadership gained a maximum of five inches.

Alayah wasn’t to happy with that, but at least she grew along side her Mates. Alayah didn’t gain much height in comparison to her Mates, she only gained three inches and her Mates gained four inches. Alayah now stands at six feet and as an Alpha it suites her, but her Mates are almost a foot taller at 6”9. Bastian gained four inches while I gained five inches, leaving us both at 6“7.

At least we didn’t have to remodel everything around the Pack to accommodate all this growth, Grandpa explained that they built everything with in the back of their minds the growth increase after the rightful Alpha would take over and I am damn glad they did. I wouldn’t be able to take a shower in my old room, if that room still exists.

Our family has grown in the past year, because Alayah gave birth to twins. A boy named Maxwell and a girl named Cassandra, both were named after their Grandparents. They are

already crawling around the Alpha residence and Aunt Mara is never far behind. I think it is her way of trying to make up for the years she lost with Alayah, she really hated herself for what she had done.

I still haven’t found my Mate and each time I meet new females I hope it is my lucky day, but so far I am out of luck. Bastian and I have made it clear over and over again that we will wait for our fated Mate and most new Pack–members accept it after the first warning, but some are a little bit harder to convince.

“Anton, get your ass into my office.” I hear Alayah say in my head and I jump up to get dressed. If she breaks through my block without warning, it always means that there is trouble somewhere. I go through my morning routine and pull on a shirt and sweatpants. I don’t bother with shoes because I like running around on my bare feet.

Walking out of my room I wonder who the hell pissed Alayah off and of course the big question why. Everyone knows that she is mated to her four Stepbrothers and some of them have a problem with that, not completely sure why but it is the reality of things.

Some females believe she shouldn’t have four Mates because they want one of them for themselves, other females are against it because according to them siblings can’t have a Mate- bond. Most males don’t agree for the same reason and a handful wants Alayah for themselves. I think that if one more Wolf or Lycan contacts the Elders to object to their Mate–bond, our entire world will be at war.

Shit has hit the fan a few times over the past year and almost every Pack’s leadership or at least the Alpha has been against Alayah being the Alpha of Blood Stone Pack. If I hear one more Alpha say that a female isn’t strong enough to be an Alpha, I am not going to stop Alayah again from ripping someone apart.

“Okay, who pissed you off this time?” I ask teasingly as I walk into her office and I get handed a file by Nikolay, Khal is close to the surface as he walks over to his Mate. I open it up to find a request from Crystal Blood Pack to help them find a Beta family that is willing to move, there is no reason mentioned for this request and that is the reason why I am holding the file.

There aren’t that many reasons for an Alpha to request a new Beta family and to my knowledge none of them apply for Crystal Cove Pack. “Well, at least we get to kill two birds with one stone.” I say as I sit down to grab a cup of coffee and Alayah looks at me for a few

answers.

“We still don’t know why Bree’s so–called Stepdad wanted to enter Blood Stone territory, but I have a pretty good idea where to look for answers. I went through the entire Archive to find any report from twenty to twenty five years ago and I had narrowed it down to three files, but two of them were a dead end. The other file leads to Crystal Blood Pack, so we have another excuse to visit as well.” I say before I take a sip of my coffee.
