Love Times Four My Stepbrothers Are My Mates (Alayah) novel Chapter 24

**When Broken Stars Drift Across Empty Midnight Skies by Troy Mason Venn**

**Chapter 24: Deltas**

“What in the world is she wearing?” I shout through our mental link, my voice cutting through the air like a knife. Instantly, my Brothers’ heads snap toward the entrance of the dining room, their expressions shifting to a mix of shock and intrigue. Don’t get me wrong; Alayah looks absolutely breathtaking, radiating a fiery allure that could ignite the coldest of hearts. Yet, it’s not just us who are captivated by her; I can feel the eyes of other males in the room, their gazes heavy with desire, and I know they can hear the low growl emanating from my throat.

As she strides in, confidence radiating from her every move, I catch the moment she locks eyes with Noah. His expression darkens, disapproval etched across his features like a stormy sky. But as she takes her seat, I realize that Noah’s opinions on her fashion choices will likely fall on deaf ears. Alayah is a force of nature, and no amount of disapproval is going to change that.

I watch her glance at Anton, and the instant his comment registers, I hear Noah’s roar echo in my mind. It’s not just the irritation of the moment; it’s a primal response, one that only our Alpha can quell. But then, Alayah places her hand gently on Noah’s arm, and I witness an immediate transformation in him. The tension in his shoulders relaxes as he pulls her into his embrace. “Thank the Goddess that our Angel can calm you down, Noah,” Nikolay quips through our mind-link, his voice tinged with amusement.

“Damn, this is entertaining,” Miku remarks, chuckling as we watch Anton squabble with his Lycan. It’s a sight I never thought I’d find so amusing, but I can’t help but think back to the times Dad would chuckle at our own arguments with our beasts. I had always assumed it was a private struggle, but clearly, I was mistaken. I make a mental note to remember this; it’s a reminder of the bond we share with our inner wolves.

After breakfast, we trail behind Marc as he leads us to his office. I find myself adjusting my stance, my eyes glued to Alayah’s swaying hips as she walks ahead of me. “Damn it, she’s going to be the end of me,” Nathan growls through the link, and I can sense the shared struggle among my Brothers. The hope that Alayah is our Mate burns brighter than ever. If she isn’t, I dread the chaos that might ensue, especially from Noah. But if she is, we’ll claim her the moment she’s ready.

Nikolay moves ahead of me, his hand resting on Alayah’s lower back as he guides her toward the seating area in Marc’s office. Noah beats me to the chair beside her, and I can’t help but smirk. He’s grown up; if he were still the child I knew, he’d be taunting me with a childish “Nah, Nah, Nah” through our link. Once we’re all settled with our coffee, Marc shifts his focus to my Brothers.

“As you’re aware, there have been some changes with Crystal and me becoming Mates, especially with our Packs being neighbors,” he begins, his tone serious yet laced with a hint of excitement.

“The most significant change will be the merging of our Packs. However, I believe it’s the smaller adjustments that will prove to be the biggest headaches, and we’ll need all hands on deck for this. Being an Alpha, Beta, or Gamma in a large Pack is no small feat, but our situation will be even more complex. Crystal has asked Alayah to step into the role of her Beta, and I’m thrilled she accepted, mostly because she doesn’t seem to mind paperwork,” Marc continues, and laughter bubbles up among us.
