Love Times Four My Stepbrothers Are My Mates (Alayah) novel Chapter 89

**When Broken Stars Drift Across Empty Midnight Skies by Troy Mason Venn**
**Chapter 89: Justice**

The atmosphere in the living room shifted palpably as all eyes pivoted toward Crystal and Marc. Conversations that had previously filled the air fell silent, replaced by a curious tension. Crystal, ever poised, stood up and welcomed the unexpected audience with a steady gaze. “It has been nearly twenty-four hours since I last stepped out of that Library. So, let me ask you again, how long can I go without that drug before it begins to lose its grip on me?” Her voice was firm, carrying a weight that commanded attention. As if in a choreographed dance, her father rose slowly from his seat, following her lead.

With a determined stride, Crystal approached Luna Vicky, extending her hand to deliver the test results. The moment was electric, charged with anticipation. Just then, an irate Alpha Randell burst into the room, his presence demanding immediate answers from Marc. The tension was palpable, thick enough to cut with a knife.

Marc, however, had other plans. He suggested they take this matter to the Alpha office, but Crystal was resolute. “No,” she declared, her voice unwavering. “My Pack deserves to know what he did to me and my Lycan.” Marc’s protests fell on deaf ears as Luna Vicky, with a steady voice, began to read the results aloud. There was no need for further explanation; the truth was laid bare.

“Taria is grateful she listened to me when it came to us marking each other. We both assume that Tybalt had to agree with you for this to work, and I’m thankful I trusted my instincts. I hope I never have to see you again, Asshole.” Crystal’s words sliced through the thick tension as she brushed past Marc, leaving a stunned Pack in her wake. With her father at her side, they exited the door, the weight of their shared experience heavy upon them.

Alpha Randell, his expression a mixture of fury and concern, ordered Marc to accompany him to his office. The door clicked shut behind them, sealing off the world outside. “Now, tell me everything,” he demanded, his voice low but intense. Marc, however, had a revelation that his father hadn’t anticipated. He recounted the secrets he had unearthed years prior about both Packs, detailing his quest to restore their former glory. But there was a critical piece of information missing from the documents he had discovered.

What followed was an unexpected heart-to-heart between father and son. As they shared their thoughts, Marc realized that he shared more similarities with his father than he had ever imagined. Both were deeply unsettled by Alayah and her family residing within their territory. As they spoke, Marc began to understand why his father had remained unresponsive during the earlier confrontation in the dining room—the very incident that had led Alayah and her family to the Blood Stone Pack.

Neither of them grasped the gravity of their situation. If only they had known the consequences of Alayah discovering her true identity, they might have chosen a different path. They wouldn’t have been so smug about forcing her into a visit to Blood Stone Pack. Instead, they would have been frantically searching for ways to shield themselves from the impending storm that Alayah represented.
