Logan had practically delivered himself to Lisa's doorstep. How could she not succeed?

But he knew he couldn't give her such an easy answer. She was bold enough to say such things now because she was drunk. Tomorrow when she sobered up, she would bury her head in the sand again.

"You've had too much to drink, and I'm your uncle." Logan deliberately hardened his expression.

Lisa chuckled. "Oh, now you remember you're my uncle? But when you confessed your feelings to me before, did you forget?"

"I realized my mistake, and corrected it in time." His words left Lisa speechless.

"Are you saying I won't succeed?" Lisa's voice hummed, laced with grievance and defiance.

Logan lowered his eyes, meeting her misty gaze. "You're drunk."

"I'm not drunk!" She suddenly got irritated, her voice rising.

"You're not drunk? Then why are you saying such things? After I confessed, you avoided me like the plague," he murmured.

"I'm not scared. You're not that scary. I just... I just..." Lisa protested but she couldn't explain herself either.

She stared at him, and after a long moment asked, "Logan, do you really like Joelle?"
