I spoke coldly: “He’s not worthy. But I’m not deaf–you don’t need to get so close to talk.”

Now everyone not only knew George wasn’t worthy of me.

Caroline was so angry her eyes were practically shooting flames.

How could I possibly know Vincent?!

George, whose face was now swollen beyond recognition, also looked extremely ugly. If the bodyguards weren’t supporting him, he really wanted to find a hole to crawl into.

Just then, someone came over from the director’s side.

“Hello, Miss Hazel, congratulations on successfully landing the role of female doctor ‘Sophia‘ in ‘Urban Legend… You…”

The staff member approached and, seeing this explosive scene, could barely speak clearly.

Vincent and I both looked at him.

She walked up to the staff member and demanded: “Why is it her?”

The staff member said awkwardly: “This is the director’s decision…”

Caroline suppressed her inner fury and unwillingness, whispering in the staff member’s ear: “What do you mean? Don’t you want Silver Moon Pack and the Ellington family’s sponsorship anymore?”

They had clearly agreed beforehand that my audition was just going through the motions. How dare this director go back on his word?

The staff member glanced at Vincent–who wore a neither–smiling–nor–serious expression–and said: “The director decided based on the on–site audition performances. Miss Hazel’s understanding of the profession and dramatic tension were excellent–clearly she had done sufficient preparation. If you have objections, the director said both of your footage could be released for public judgment.”

Caroline took a deep breath: “Are you really going to let someone who’s been a mistress act in this production?”

This statement immediately energized everyone present.

A mistress?

She pointed at me, her eyes flashing with hesitation and malice, gritting her teeth: “She’s been kept by a rich man, her private life is improper. She only got to audition here by being someone’s mistress. Do you really want to let such a person ruin the crew’s reputation?”

Of course I knew why she didn’t dare mention that I’d been imprisoned. She neither wanted others to know I was Silver Moon Pack’s biological daughter, nor dared speak too many dirty details aloud.

I looked toward Vincent and saw his eyes slightly narrowed, his gaze calmly falling on me.

I curled my lips in a cold smile and spoke slowly: “Caroline, didn’t I warn you—to keep that dog mouth from biting people randomly?”

She instantly remembered the last time I dealt with her, her face going pale.

The surrounding people watched our tense confrontation, not daring to breathe loudly.

I looked at her coldly, my voice ice–cold: “Taking my position and being arrogant in front of me. Are fake princesses this presumptuous?”

“What did she say? Fake princess?”
