Chapter 40
Hazel’s POV:
“Go find him. He’ll arrange things for you.” I handed Mason a business card with an address and phone number.
Mason, sitting across from me, wore a formal suit with his hair meticulously styled. Though not particularly handsome, he gave off a refined impression. He took the card from my hand.
“Rowan,” he said the name quietly.
His lips curved slightly: “Was he the person you met before me?”
I didn’t answer, just picked up my coffee and took a light sip: “He knows how to arrange things. All my assets are in his hands–following him is the only way you’ll get paid.”
Mason pocketed the card: “You really trust him.”
I looked at him: “That’s why I have you, right? If he embezzles funds, you can sue him to death for me.”
Mason paused: “…”
Well, ain’t that a complete circle.
Mason took out a stack of documents from his briefcase.
“These are some things I’ve investigated recently,” he began reporting. “Some bullying incidents the four Silver Moon Pack brothers have covered up for Caroline over the years, plus some materials related to Vivienne being pushed down the stairs. However, there’s very little material, and it’s incomplete. After Vivienne’s incident, Silver Moon Pack put considerable effort into erasing Caroline’s traces.”
I listened while reading. Mason continued:
“That location was a surveillance blind spot. The only witness is Vivienne. All other witnesses were bought off. Because you happened to pass by that area, they deliberately pointed suspicion at you. Overturning this case now would be quite difficult.” He frowned. “However, we might be able to investigate Caroline’s motive through Vivienne’s former classmates.”
I knew that although Mason had only found this much, he had actually done considerable work. After all, Dominic and Arthur had indeed handled things very cleanly.
“So now, either we make them confess themselves, or Vivienne wakes up,” I said flatly.
Mason nodded: “That’s the current situation.”
I raised an eyebrow: “I understand.”
“By the way, Arthur contacted me,” Mason smiled. “Guess what he wanted?”
I wasn’t interested in guessing games, so I responded directly: “He asked if you’re connected to Vincent, and whether I’m the Mason from the industry.”

Mason was direct with me I knew he understood I didn’t like heating around the bush.
speaking of which, before I went to prison, Arthur actually wanted to apprentice under me, to become part of my professional network.” Mason’s eyes flashed with amusement. “I never expected that in just a few years, he’d become a renowned lawyer. Your second brother is so young–if he hadn’t crossed you, you could say his future was limitless.”
Icurved my lips slightly, noncommittal. The four Silver Moon Pack brothers indeed had excellent genes, each with exceptional talents in their respective areas.
However…
“But the biggest difference between him and me is that my crime was manslaughter, while his was knowingly breaking the law, Mason’s voice turned cold. “The legal profession cannot tolerate such scum.”
It was precisely because it was manslaughter that Mason could get back on his feet and continue practicing law. He had originally committed his offense for the sake of justice, ultimately being schemed against and sent to prison.
I took a light sip of coffee, saying flatly: “Indeed scum, but he’s not the only one. Just going to prison would be too easy on them.”
Mason looked at me, clearly not knowing my specific plans. Nevertheless, he smiled and deliberately asked: “Can I consider myself your person from now on? If asked in the future, can I say I’m Blood Moon Pack Princess Hazel’s personal legal advisor?”
I glanced at him, looking him up and down: “Is the title that important?”
