Marked By The Mad King Alpha (Phoebe and Perry) novel Chapter 203

**His Mercy Tastes Like Hunger**

**Chapter 203: Into the Dungeon**

**Perry’s POV**

If only I weren’t such an insufferably arrogant fool, Phoebe might have been carrying my child by now, just as Viola was with hers.

This chaotic situation was entirely my fault.

The weight of this disaster rested squarely on my shoulders, and I was the one who had dragged my mate through the fiery pits of despair.

At this moment, it might not seem like a catastrophe, but I knew it was a ticking time bomb, its fuse already lit, just waiting for the right moment to explode into chaos.

I gazed at Phoebe’s serene sleeping face. She looked so peaceful, so breathtakingly beautiful, but deep down, I was acutely aware that this tranquility was fragile and could shatter at any moment. If only I could mend what I had broken… if only I had the slightest idea of how to repair the damage I had caused.

“I’m so sorry, my love.” I leaned down, pressing my lips against hers softly. “I would do anything for you, even if it means you end up hating me. I will do whatever it takes to safeguard your peace.” I deepened the kiss, pouring every ounce of my devotion into that moment. Even if it required me to burn my entire kingdom to the ground, I would do it without a second thought. I would watch it all go up in flames for her sake.

Phoebe remained blissfully unaware of the storm brewing within me, lost in her dreams. She felt the warmth of my kiss but was too drowsy to respond, her mind still adrift in the realm of slumber.

**Phoebe’s POV**

In my dream, the ethereal white wolf made its appearance once more.

The magnificent creature stood majestically on the opposite bank of the river, its gaze fixed on me. It was a breathtaking sight, regal and powerful—I yearned to run my fingers through its silky fur once again.

But as I attempted to approach, the white wolf stepped back, retreating into the shadows, and I found myself unable to cross the river that separated us.

When I awoke the next morning, the dream had already begun to fade, replaced by the harsh reality of Perry’s plans to draw Reginald out.

“Are you certain this is our best course of action?” I asked hesitantly, scrutinizing Perry with a cautious eye. My disdain for Viola was palpable, and when she had come to me, pleading for assistance regarding her mother, I had turned my back on her extended hand.

The past was behind us, and I refused to dwell on it any longer. I didn’t want to see Viola harmed, and even though Tiara had treated me cruelly in the past, I could never wish death upon her.

But I wanted no part in their tangled web of drama.

Besides, Viola was pregnant now. The thought of anything happening to her or her unborn child was unbearable.

“Are you upset because I chose to spare your stepmother’s life?” Perry inched closer, settling beside me, his hand gently resting on my back in a gesture of comfort. “Would you prefer her execution? I can arrange that.”
