Chapter 96: Pure Madness Incarnate
Perry’s Perspective
At this very moment, I was cutting a brutal, bloody trail straight toward the dungeon. Every fiber of my being screamed for one thing: to reclaim my mate.
Forget these fools.

Phoebe could wait—I’d deal with her later. Whether she was truly guilty or not, I would decide that only once she was back in my arms.
But these imbeciles had the audacity to stand in my way. My beast didn’t hesitate. It tore through them with ruthless ferocity. In a single, savage strike, I annihilated three of them. Rage had become my compass, guiding every move.
I made no effort to suppress the bloodlust coursing wildly through my veins. I severed heads, shattered bones, and crushed skulls without mercy.
Their agonized screams were like a twisted symphony, only stoking the fire of my desire to wipe them all out.
I was drowning—submerged in a crimson sea, consumed by a madness that clawed at my mind. Everything blurred into shades of red. Even my own warriors, who followed close behind, kept their distance, hesitant to approach.
I seemed unaware of their presence.
Anyone who came near me was met with death. Anyone within reach was destroyed.
It didn’t take long before the enemy soldiers finally fled, terror overtaking them. It was overwhelming. Despite outnumbering me twenty to one, they dared not attack.
My aura sliced through them like a razor, suffocating and breaking their will. Just my presence was enough to make their knees buckle.
They were witnessing the king’s madness firsthand—the insanity they’d only ever heard whispered about.
Fear rooted them to the spot.
Instinct took over, and they scattered as I charged forward. In their minds, they believed another group behind them would handle me while they dealt with my warriors.
I moved like a violent storm, obliterating everything in my path. Their first instinct was to flee the predator stalking them.
Reginald swore viciously when one of his men finally found him after his prolonged absence.
“We have to get out of here! The king’s coming, and no one can stop him. He’s a nightmare!” The warrior’s face was pale, panic etched in every line.
“Why are you only showing up now?!” Reginald snapped, his anger boiling over. His carefully laid plan was crumbling.
“You said you’d handle it yourself…” the man stammered.
“We were removing the alpha’s body and securing—”
“Enough!” Reginald cut him off sharply, pushing the soldier aside. Without warning, he turned and started walking in the opposite direction from the exit, leaving his subordinate confused.
“Sir, the exit’s the other way,” the soldier called after him, trying to persuade him to turn back. “We have to leave. The king is heading this way.”
But Reginald refused to retreat until he had killed Cameron and taken Phoebe.
“Sir, we really need to go now. There’s no time left.”
The urgency in the soldier’s voice was unmistakable. “If we stay, we’ll die. Alpha Sterling ordered a retreat.”
