Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 211

**Chapter 211: Is She Yours?**

**Jake’s POV:**

In the dimly lit surveillance room, the werewolf guards were hunched over their monitors, scrutinizing every camera feed with an intensity that matched my rising anxiety. I stood behind them, my heart racing, a tight knot of worry forming in my stomach. The atmosphere was thick with tension, and I felt every second stretching out like an eternity.

Then, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a shadow flitting across the stair camera. My pulse quickened as I recognized the figure—a middle-aged woman, the same one who had evaded me in the parking lot. Just as I leaned in closer, the screen flickered and went dark.

Panic surged through me. Without a moment’s hesitation, I shifted into my wolf form, the familiar rush of power coursing through my veins. I bounded up the stairs, calling out for Deanna, my voice echoing in the empty stairwell.

As I ascended, a muffled sound reached my ears—a desperate cry. “Help!” It was Deanna’s voice, sharp with fear. My heart plummeted, and I pushed myself harder, each stride fueled by the urgency of her distress.

With a thunderous crash, I burst through the rooftop door, and the scene before me ignited a blaze of fury within me. A woman clad entirely in black loomed over Deanna, a syringe poised to strike.

“Stop!” I roared, lunging forward. My front paw connected with her lower back, sending her sprawling. She shrieked as the syringe flew from her grasp, shattering against the wall in a shower of glass.

In a heartbeat, I shifted back to my human form, urgency propelling me toward Deanna. I rushed to her side, swiftly working to untie the ropes that bound her wrists.

“Deanna, are you alright?” I asked, my voice strained with concern as I fumbled with the knots.

Her eyes, wide with disbelief, met mine. “Jake … how did you get here?” she gasped, shock evident in her tone.

Before I could respond, the woman I had knocked down was already regaining her footing, her eyes blazing with rage. She seized a silver dagger and charged at us, her intentions clear and deadly.

There was no time for hesitation. I instinctively shoved Deanna out of the way, but I wasn’t quick enough. The blade lunged toward me, piercing my chest with a searing pain. Blood erupted from the wound, warm and sticky, as I staggered back.

Deanna’s eyes filled with horror. “Jake!” she screamed, her voice a mix of fear and disbelief.

Finally, the werewolf guards arrived, rushing in to apprehend the assailant. I clutched my wound, trying to speak through the haze of pain. “It’s okay. Alpha healing is strong,” I reassured her, though my voice was barely above a whisper.

“Don’t talk,” she insisted, her eyes darting around frantically. “I’ll call an ambulance!”

As my vision began to blur, I caught a glimpse of Dorothy being restrained by the guards. A wave of relief washed over me, if only for a moment, before darkness crept in, and I allowed my eyes to close.

**Third-person POV:**

In the sterile, fluorescent-lit corridors of the hospital, Barbara and Thora rushed in, their hearts pounding from the news they had just received.

“What on earth happened?” Barbara demanded, her voice sharp and accusatory. “How did Jake end up getting stabbed by some lunatic at a Mistbane Pack mall?”

“Mom, please, just calm down,” Thora urged, her voice steady but laced with concern. “We need to check on Jake first.”
