Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 254

**TITLE: The Heart I Buried for You by Serene Lockwood**

**Chapter 254: What on Earth Are You Doing Here**

**Erik’s POV:**

For what felt like an eternity, she stood there, enveloped in silence, her thoughts clearly churning beneath the surface. I couldn’t help but feel the weight of the moment pressing down on us. Perhaps a gentle push would help her see reason—after all, my friend needed her back.

Finally, she broke the stillness, her voice calm yet distant, like echoes in a vast canyon. “Luis’s past or present has nothing to do with me anymore.”

With those words, she turned on her heel, her slender figure gliding away from me, swallowed by the shadows as she rounded the corner. I clicked my tongue in frustration, the sound sharp in the air.

Luis had a long and arduous journey ahead if he ever hoped to win her heart again.

As I mulled over the situation, a werewolf attendant strolled by, balancing a lavish fruit platter on his arm. I raised a hand to stop him, curiosity piqued.

“Hey, isn’t there a celebrity birthday bash happening tonight? Which private room is it in?”

The attendant’s expression shifted, his lips pressing into a thin line.

“I’m afraid I can’t share that information, sir. Company policy,” he replied curtly, scurrying away with the platter, leaving me with my thoughts.

Hah. So they’re all banding together to keep secrets from me, are they?

What do they think? That I can’t uncover the truth on my own?

I recalled that Spade A was originally established by the Olsendreich Pack, but the Mooncrown Pack had also poured in their resources.

Sure, those two packs loathed each other with a passion, but when it came to business, even sworn enemies could find common ground.

I pulled out my phone, dialing a familiar number. “My esteemed Mr. Eaton, would you care to grace Spade A with your presence tonight?”

“No,” came Luis’s immediate response, his tone clipped and dismissive.

“Oh?” A smirk crept onto my face, a glimmer of mischief in my eyes. “But your fated mate is here, you know.”

Silence hung in the air, thick and tense. I could almost hear his breath hitch on the other end before his voice turned cold, sharp as a blade. “Why is she there?”

I rolled my eyes, feigning innocence as I replied with exaggerated concern, “She came to celebrate her best friend’s birthday. And you know how raucous it gets in here—absolutely dreadful for pregnant Omegas. As a doctor, I must inform you that loud noises can lead to prenatal stress, emotional turmoil, developmental issues… all that terrifying stuff. I would love to keep an eye on your precious mate, but alas, I have no idea which private room she’s in. If only someone cared enough to enlighten me.”

I couldn’t help the grin that spread across my face, practically ear to ear.

On the other end, I could feel Luis’s frustration boiling over. “Wait there.”
