**Chapter 284: Send Yourself to Me Tonight**
**Luis’s POV:**
I leaned casually against the wall, the warmth of the sun filtering through the window illuminating the playful smirk on my lips. My hands were strategically placed on either side of Deanna, creating a small barrier between us, a playful challenge. “So, tell me, Deanna, what was it that I said to you earlier?”
With a mischievous glint in her eyes, she reached out, her delicate finger poking my chest as if to emphasize her point. “You promised you wouldn’t pressure me!”
I raised an eyebrow, adopting a mock-serious expression that only made her more frustrated. “Ah, yes, no pressure… that was the plan, wasn’t it?”
Deanna, her frustration bubbling just beneath the surface, stamped her foot like a child denied a treat. “But you were holding me and kissing me! How is that not pressure?”
A grin spread across my face, and I leaned in closer, lowering my voice to a conspiratorial whisper, the air between us crackling with tension. “But you wanted me too just now, didn’t you?”
“No, I did not!” she shot back, her voice a mixture of indignation and something softer that I could sense lurking beneath the surface.
Taking her hand, I pressed it gently against her own racing heart, feeling the rapid thrum beneath my fingertips. “Deanna, you know lying isn’t very nice.”
Her pulse raced under my touch, and I could see the conflict swirling in her eyes, the battle between desire and denial playing out in real time.
Before I could say another word, she abruptly shoved me away, spinning on her heel and racing toward the bedroom door, panic lacing her voice. “I need to go home!”
A twinge of dissatisfaction shot through me. “You get me all worked up and then just run away? That hardly seems fair.”
She paused for a fleeting moment, glancing back at me, her eyes darting down to the noticeable bulge in my pants—a clear indication of my arousal.
In an instant, her cheeks turned a deep crimson, and I could practically see the wheels turning in her mind, processing the implications of our heated exchange.
“I didn’t get you worked up! You’re the one who started it!” Her voice was defensive, flustered yet undeniably captivating.
With purposeful strides, I moved closer, my voice dripping with seduction. “But you felt something too, didn’t you?”
I watched as she instinctively backed away, panic and desire mingling in her gaze—a heady mix that drew me in even more.
Just as I was about to close the distance between us, she turned and dashed into the guest room, locking the door behind her with a swift motion.
Staring at the closed door, I shook my head, a bemused smile creeping onto my face. “Looks like you’ll just have to suffer through tonight,” I murmured to myself, glancing down at my predicament.
With a resigned sigh, I turned and headed into the bathroom, cranking the cold water to its maximum setting, hoping it would cool my heated thoughts and ease the tension that had suddenly enveloped me.
**Deanna’s POV:**
The following morning, as Luis drove me to work, the air was thick with unspoken tension, a palpable weight that neither of us dared to address.
I had barely settled into my office chair when hurried footsteps echoed at my door, the sound jolting me from my thoughts.
“Deanna, I’ve already arranged for a top exterminator to go to Zedowood!”
I looked up, startled, to see my mother, Kathryn, bursting in with an urgency that took me completely by surprise.
Setting my pen down, I rubbed my temples, feeling a headache forming. I hadn’t anticipated my mother would take my ridiculous excuse from last night so seriously.
