Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 287

**The Heart I Buried for You by Serene Lockwood**
**Chapter 287: Have Some Fun**

**Deanna’s POV:**

Barely a few steps had taken me away from my desk when I felt a powerful, unmistakable Alpha presence surge behind me, sending a thrilling shiver down my spine. I turned, and there he was—Luis, striding toward me with that signature confidence that always made my heart race. In one fluid motion, he slipped an arm beneath my legs, lifting me effortlessly off the ground and cradling me against him.

The world around us seemed to fade as he hoisted me into the air, and I could feel the warmth radiating from his strong, defined muscles. My cheeks flushed a deep crimson, a telltale sign of my embarrassment.

“Wow, look at that! An Alpha’s princess carry!” exclaimed a voice from the crowd, filled with awe and admiration.

“Seriously boyfriend-material! How incredibly romantic!” another chimed in, her tone thick with envy.

“I’m so jealous! All the strong Alphas are already taken!” lamented a third voice, echoing the collective sentiments of those around us.

Some of the senior employees in our office recognized me, their eyes widening in disbelief.

“Wait a minute, isn’t that our boss? Ms. Wiley!” one gasped, incredulity coloring their voice.

“When did Ms. Wiley find her mate? I don’t recall any announcement!” another added, excitement bubbling in their tone.

“Hurry! Snap a picture and send it to the group chat! The boss’s boyfriend has come to whisk her away!”

Mortification washed over me like a cold wave, and I instinctively buried my face against Luis’s chest, wishing with every fiber of my being that I could simply vanish into thin air, away from the piercing gazes and whispers.

Luis’s laughter erupted around us, a deep, infectious sound that reverberated through his chest, making me feel both embarrassed and oddly comforted. He carried me right to the passenger seat of his sleek Lamborghini, setting me down gently before making his way around to the driver’s side.

As the doors closed behind us, effectively shutting out the prying eyes and hushed whispers, I finally exhaled a sigh of relief, feeling the tension begin to lift.

Luis turned to me, a playful smile still dancing on his lips, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

“It’s not like I haven’t carried you before. You blushing like this just makes me want to tease you even more. What should I do now?”

I shot him a mock glare, my irritation barely masking my embarrassment. “This is right in front of my office, Luis! How am I supposed to face everyone tomorrow?”

He drummed his fingers on the steering wheel, a thoughtful expression crossing his face as he considered my words. “Hmm… then why don’t you add me to your employee group chat? I can give everyone a bonus and let them know their boss is taken.”

I glared at him again, annoyance bubbling up inside me. “You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”

He smirked, that infuriatingly charming smile lighting up his face. “On purpose? I told you on the phone I’d come pick you up.”

“That call this morning was just a bunch of nonsense!” I retorted, crossing my arms defiantly, my heart racing with a mix of frustration and something else—something thrilling.

“Not for me,” he replied, leaning closer, his gaze intense and unwavering. “Honey, that part? I meant every word.”

A shiver ran down my spine, and instinctively, I shifted toward the car door, desperate to escape his overwhelming presence, even as my cheeks flushed even hotter.

“Don’t call me that. It’s not good,” I protested weakly, though a part of me secretly relished the term, the way it rolled off his tongue.

“What’s not good?” He arched an eyebrow, mischief glimmering in his eyes. “Calling you ‘Honey’?”

“You know exactly what I mean!” I shot back, my heart racing at his teasing.

“I call you honey, but you don’t call me honey. That’s not fair. Come on, just say it.”

“Not a chance.”

I turned my attention to the window, grateful for the high-end privacy tint that shielded us from the outside world. Otherwise, I would have been mortified all over again, exposed to the curious stares of my colleagues.

Luis chuckled, the sound reverberating softly in my ears, a soothing balm to my frayed nerves.
