Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 335

**Chapter 335 Pay Me Back Tonight**

**Deanna’s POV:**

As I sat there, my gaze was fixed on Luis, every fiber of my being attuned to him. I searched for even the slightest flicker of emotion on his face, but he remained an impenetrable fortress, his expression unyielding.

“Deanna,” he began, his voice steady and unshakeable, “when she picked up that knife with the intention to stab you, it felt as if that very blade was piercing my heart as well.”

He continued, his words flowing like a river of truth, “I gave her a chance, but stubbornness can be a heavy chain to bear.”

Luis’s hands were busy, gently feeding me spoonfuls of rich lobster bisque, and before I could fully grasp what was happening, the bowl was empty, as if it had vanished into thin air.

He set the bowl down with a soft clink, then lifted my chin with a tender yet firm gesture. I had no choice but to meet the depth of his dark, intense gaze, which felt like an abyss pulling me in.

“Deanna,” he said, his tone a blend of gentleness and gravity, “remember this: no one has the right to bully you. Not even me.”

His words wrapped around me like a warm blanket, comforting yet empowering. “Honestly, I felt a surge of pride earlier. You’re starting to learn how to fight back.”

A thrill of determination coursed through me at his words. “A person only stops being afraid when they find their strength. I want you to become a brave woman—not because I won’t protect you, but because I want you to chase your happiness without fear.”

In that moment, as I gazed into his unwavering eyes, it was as if they were whispering a promise: “Be bold, Deanna. I will always stand behind you.”

My heart swelled, and I felt a warmth rise in my cheeks, a tightness in my throat that made it difficult to articulate my feelings. It was as if a thousand unspoken words were trapped within me.

No one had ever spoken to me in such a way before, and the kindness in his voice seemed to erase all the darkness of my past.

Luis’s long fingers brushed against my cheek, his voice dropping to a tender murmur. “You know, pregnant women shouldn’t cry so much. That’s not why I said all of this.”

I turned my head away, my stubbornness flaring. “I’m not crying.”

Luis chuckled softly, a sound that warmed the room. “Alright, alright. It seems I may have misjudged the situation.”

His fingertip danced over my lips, igniting a spark within me. “Deanna, I want to hear you call me that again.”

“What?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

A mischievous smile played on his lips, a curve that made my heart race. He leaned closer, his nose brushing against mine, the scent of pine and his Alpha aura enveloping me, causing my heart to skip a beat. “What did you call me earlier, hmm?”

I paused, the word “Darling” echoing in my mind, and my cheeks flushed a deep crimson. I had only used that word to provoke him!
