Who tries on a ceremonial gown and forgets a custom diamond necklace? And of course, I had to come all the way here to pick it up
for her.
At least the place wasn’t far from my hospital.
The receptionist handed’me the jewelry box. I checked the necklace, made sure it was fine, and got ready to leave.
“hat’s when I caught something out of the corner of my eye. The side door of the bridal fitting room was half open.
figure stepped out, dressed in a pure white gown, the skirt trailing across the carpet. She looked like a real Luna.
it first, I didn’t think much of it–people trying on gowns here was normal.
But a couple of steps later, I froze.
Something felt off. That woman in the gown looked familiar.
turned back and got a clearer look–well, I’ll be damned.
t’s Deanna.
glanced to the side. Sure enough, there was Jake, standing by the window with one hand in his pocket and the other holding a
hone to his ear.
smirk tugged at my mouth. The situation was getting interesting.
uis and I had grown up together, and I’d never once seen him care about any woman.
le knew about the curse hanging over him, but he kept ignoring the elders who wanted him to give them a Luna and an heir for he pack.
fter a while, some of us even started wondering if he might be gay.
hen recently, I stumbled onto his little affair with Deanna.
Jon’t ask me what he saw in her. Sure, she had a pretty face, but she was also his rival’s fiancée.
Vhat guy in his right mind would want to play the side piece?
And now, here she is, trying on ceremonial gowns.
Thinking about it, I couldn’t help but be amused with his misfortune.
pulled out my phone, zoomed in, and snapped a photo.
Spinning the phone in my hand, I let out a low whistle, pleased with myself as I strolled out of the studio.

Jake’s POV:
On the phone, Jorge was still urging me to come to the hospital and stay with Peggie.
Just then, a startled voice came from behind me. I turned, and the sight of her hit me like a wave.
I spoke into the phone, keeping my eyes on her. “I’m not coming today. If Peggie gets worked up, just give her the medicine. Jorge, I have a life too. I can’t spend my whole life revolving around her.”
I hung up without waiting for his reply and took long strides toward Deanna. My eyes locked on her.
Surely, I had imagined before how stunning she would look in a ceremonial gown.
But seeing it with my own eyes made me speechless.
Nothing could describe the shock in my chest.
The white gown wrapped her figure, silk and lace glowing softly under the lights.
She looked like something divine–pure, noble, untouchable, as if Nyx herself had materialized before me. A beauty so sacred it made you afraid to get too close.
And this woman, she was going to be my Luna.
A smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I walked faster toward her.
Just before I reached her, Lily stepped forward with a cheerful suggestion. “Ms. Wiley, this ceremonial gown doesn’t need the sheer cover. Let me take it off for you so we can see the full effect.”
