Marrying Without My Eight-Year Boyfriend Knowing novel Chapter 24

Indeed, you can get rid of a cheating scumbag, but you can't afford to let go of the money.

With that thought, I immediately contacted Alex.

Alex: "Ophelia, have you had a change of heart? I’ll tell you what, if you apologize nicely, I’ll forgive you."

"After all, we were about to get married, and I don't want to be too harsh."

I was disgusted, but I quickly told him to pay me back.

Me: "Pay me back?!"

Alex sounded surprised. "When did I owe you money?"

"Don't try to extort me!"

Alex: "I haven’t even reported you for making me lose my job!"

I sneered and said, "You’ve been eating my food, staying with me, and living off me for the past two years without spending a penny. Three months ago, you told me your dad was sick and needed surgery, and you borrowed fifty thousand from me—did you forget? And at the beginning of the year, you said your family was building a house and borrowed sixty thousand from me—did you forget that too?"

"I won’t even ask you for the smaller amounts, but these two large sums, you’d better pay me back!"

Alex stammered for a while, then suddenly spoke fluently, "My dad’s illness is something between the two of us. Don’t you think you should show some filial piety?"

I laughed in anger. What marriage? He should marry Emily.

Me: "Who’s marrying you? Don’t tell me you think I’m playing hard to get or that I’m just throwing a tantrum. We’re breaking up. Are you still dreaming?"

I sarcastically mocked him, "Great genius, hurry up and marry your sweet little girl. I wish you both a hundred years of happiness and eight kids."

"Now pay me back, or I’ll sue you."

Alex completely lost it and started cursing me over the phone, calling me as venomous as a snake.

I started recording, letting him rant until he was done, keeping my composure. Once he paid, I could let him go.
