Nathaniel crouched down and spread his muscular arms wide so that his daughter could dive straight into his chest.

The bag contained some snacks and pretty outfits for Ariya.

Then, he pulled out a token that resembled a bronze medallion. "Here, take this as well."

On the front of the token was an engraved pattern. Although the pattern resembled a flower, it was hard to tell exactly what kind of flower it was.

His title was engraved on the back: "Nathaniel Quinn—Captain of the Guard Corps, District 13."

"That's my token. Anyone in District 13 will recognize it. If you ever run into trouble, don't hesitate to come find me.

"Also, I've arranged for an escort to take you straight to Pier 12. It'll save you some trouble."

Matthew initially tried to refuse politely, but he eventually accepted the token.
