Sebastian locked eyes with Jake and said hoarsely, "Finish what you were saying."

Between Sebastian and Nicholas, it was obvious who was really in charge, but Jake still instinctively glanced at Nicholas.

Nicholas gave him an encouraging look and nodded for him to continue. That gave Jake a bit of courage.

He went to the same college as Roxanne, and she was ridiculously beautiful. On top of that, she was technically Sebastian's girlfriend, which made her a campus celebrity and the center of attention in nearly every conversation.

"Mr. Hayes, I think you should break up with Ms. Sawyer as soon as possible. She doesn't have the best of reputation, after all. Besides, this is really affecting Ms. Halesworth. Even if everyone knows you like her, you've given the title of your girlfriend to Ms. Sawyer. No matter how you look at it, Ms. Halesworth will always seem like the other women."

Sebastian's behavior, truth be told, was pretty scummy. He made Roxanne his girlfriend but gave all his affection to Liana.

Jake was a marketing major and a year below Roxanne. He was recruited to the college because of her. Back in her sophomore year—before the drugging incident—she had appeared in a recruitment video. At the time, he had actually set his sights on another college.

But when he saw the radiant and glowing Roxanne on screen, smiling brightly as she said, "Welcome to Valoria College", it felt like he had been hit with a lightning bolt. His heart started racing uncontrollably.
