Roxanne was fuming.
Now, it made sense why Nathaniel had added Taylor to the group chat. In this chaotic mess, not a single person was there by accident.
Her jinx only worked in person. Otherwise, she would have cursed Taylor to death right then and there.
The next time she saw him, he'd better watch out!
Roxanne quickly stated her stance in the group chat. "I'm not going."
What, did they think she was stupid? She was sure Nathaniel wouldn't harm Liana. But if it were her, who knew what he'd do? She wasn't some saint who was willing to trade herself for Liana.
"How can you be so selfish? We're just asking you to exchange yourself for Liana—not to die!" Taylor demanded.
"If I'm not gonna die, then what's the point of trading me for Liana? Besides, I heard Liana got abducted because she ran off at the airport. Isn't that your failure to watch her? The person most responsible for her getting abducted is you!" Roxanne retorted.
Moral manipulation? She could play that game too. Shifting blame? Please, that was amateur stuff.
Damn it. Roxanne was seething. Her anger was practically boiling over.
Nathaniel chimed in with another message. "Sebastian, what's your call? Trade or not?"
Sebastian replied. "Not trading."
Roxanne sensed the firmness in Sebastian's words, but it gave her absolutely zero sense of security. Because in the past, Sebastian had chosen Liana too many times.
She couldn't shake the feeling that Nathaniel, that lunatic, still had something up his sleeve.
And sure enough, the next second, Nathaniel sent a video to the group chat. The video's thumbnail was black.
Roxanne clicked it open, and immediately, the sound of squelching mud and a disgusting, indecent image flashed across the screen. She shut it off after one glance.
Damn it! Nathaniel really was a monster! He had actually done that sort of thing to Liana and filmed it!
