Just as Sebastian was heading upstairs, Roxanne shut her eyes and jumped straight out of the second-floor window. By the time Sebastian reached the floor, he heard the sound of her landing. His expression changed instantly.
"Roxanne!"
He rushed to the window, but Roxanne had already landed steadily on the ground and was flipping him off. "Sebastian, you disgust me! I'm done playing your game!"
Sebastian's face turned stormy, and his voice was nearly a roar that came from the depths of his throat.
"Roxanne, I told you I won't let anything happen to you. Why won't you believe me?"
Roxanna shot him a cold glare. "You also said earlier that you wouldn't trade me. How am I supposed to believe you? Sebastian, your trust score with me is zero!"
And with that, she turned and ran without looking back.
Sebastian's eyes were filled with churning emotions.
What did she mean by zero trust?
If he was willing to use her in a trade, of course, he would make sure nothing would happen to her! Why didn't she trust him?
He turned to the bodyguards stationed in the yard. "Catch her!"
For the engagement party tomorrow, Sebastian had placed many bodyguards around the villa. Roxanne had no chance of getting away.
Sure enough, four bodyguards came at her from the front and four from behind, surrounding her completely.
She headed toward the northwest side of the villa where there was a large tree near the wall. Looking at the eight trained bodyguards, she let out a cold smile. "Careful, or lightning might hit the tree and crush you."
The bodyguards were professionals and thought Roxanne was just joking. They charged forward to grab her.
But the next second, something bizarre happened.
A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky and struck the exact tree Roxanne had pointed to. The tree burst into smoke, its branches snapping and crashing to the ground. All eight bodyguards were pinned beneath the damage.
Roxanne leaped onto the fallen tree and, using the remaining branches, quickly and skillfully climbed up the wall. Good thing she had never been much of a proper lady. She had always had a thing for climbing high and stepping low.
