Taylor urged Sebastian impatiently, saying, "Hurry up. Get her in the car."

Sebastian shot him a cold, piercing glare. "I'll make sure you pay for hitting her."

Taylor instinctively shuddered. "Fine. As long as we can save Liana, I'll take whatever comes my way. Just get in the car."

Sebastian's expression remained impassive as he held Roxanne in his arms. "Send me the address."

With that, he turned and got into his own car. There was no way he would let Taylor drive.

Taylor had already proven he was reckless enough to hit Roxanne for Liana's sake. If he was behind the wheel, the situation could spiral further out of control.

Inside the car, Sebastian cupped Roxanne's chin. His gaze was firm as he reassured her once more, saying, "I'll keep you safe. Trust me."

Roxanne slapped his hand away without hesitation. "If you really want me safe, then don't use me as bait. Do you seriously not understand that? Do you really think you can't catch Nathaniel? It's only a matter of time.

"But instead of waiting, you're choosing to sacrifice me. So, don't ask me to trust you. Isn't that just funny?"

Nathaniel was beyond Sebastian's reach. If Sebastian truly wanted to find him, it wouldn't take long. It was just that in the meantime, Liana would suffer.

The quickest way to lure Nathaniel out and minimize Liana's suffering was to use Roxanne as bait by turning her into a hostage.

But as a hostage, there was no way she would be safe. Nathaniel had already hurt Liana. Did Sebastian really think Nathaniel would spare Roxanne?

Did he not realize that if she fell into Nathaniel's hands, she could face something even worse than what Liana had been subjected to? Like those three men Nathaniel had mentioned?

Of course, Sebastian knew. But he was convinced he had everything under control and that he could keep her safe. Wasn't that the biggest joke of all?
