Taylor let out a bitter laugh. "There's no real reason, just that the opportunities abroad are better."

If it hadn't been for Aiden, who had quickly helped him up and stopped the bleeding, he might already be dead.

When Sebastian had attacked him, he had done so with the intent to kill. And the truth was, Taylor had no excuse.

To save Liana, he had agreed to Nathaniel's request to hide a kidnapper in the car. Did he not realize this could have put Roxanne's life in danger? Of course, he did. But he still did it.

Taylor looked at Liana gently. "Liana, will you come abroad with me?"

If she agreed, he would take care of her for the rest of his life, just as Miles would have wanted. But the moment Liana heard his words, she suddenly pulled her hand away, lowered her head, and stayed silent.

Her answer was clear—she wouldn't go. She wanted to stay.

Taylor's lips curled into a bitter smile. This was the outcome he had expected all along. He softly patted her head. "Liana, I respect your decision. But from now on, I won't be able to look after you anymore. Take good care of yourself."

Liana looked at him through teary eyes that were filled with reluctance. "Taylor…"

Taylor sighed. Roxanne had survived by sheer luck. From now on, she would be Liana's greatest rival.

He stood up. "Liana, I'm leaving. I just wanted to see you one last time before I go. Take care of yourself."

Liana broke down in tears. "Taylor, I don't want you to go." She clung to his sleeve, hoping he would stay.
