Roxanne furrowed her brows before ending the call without hesitation. She switched back to her game and started playing it, her mind free of worries.
Sebastian stood aside, looking refined and calm. His gaze was commanding, just like a superior's.
He had overheard the conversation on the phone. He also noticed that the other party had called Roxanne again after she ended the call the first time. Without hesitation, she rejected the call again.
Sebastian looked rather condescending. He gazed at her meaningfully for a few seconds before asking slowly, "Aren't you going to explain yourself?"
"What?" Roxanne looked up in surprise. She seemed bewildered at his questioning gaze.
"Explain myself?" Why did Roxanne have to do that? She felt like she was going to lose her mind. What did she even have to say?
Sebastian scowled as he pointed at her phone. "The call."
Roxanne was still at a loss. "What call…"
Then, she suddenly recalled the stranger contacting her earlier, saying he found her wedding certificate.
Roxanne smirked. "Are you asking about the wedding certificate?"
Sebastian's gaze darkened. While he seemed nonchalant, there was a hidden challenging glint in his eyes.
Suddenly, Roxanne became fascinated at his reaction. She began mocking him, asking, "Are you telling me you've never received scam calls from a young age?"
In Roxanne's opinion, the scam call was somewhat outrageous. The scammer had started things off by mentioning her wedding certificate. Was he suggesting that married women were easier to fool?
Doubt filled Sebastian's cool gaze. "A scam call?"
One glance at Sebastian and Roxanne could tell that he never received scam calls before.
That wasn't fair! Roxanne finally learned that not everyone would receive calls from scammers.
