"Have you ever received a scam call?"

"Of course."

A hint of amusement flashed across Nicholas' face. Sebastian's question left him feeling extremely perplexed.

Sebastian had been looking in the direction of Roxanne's ward before leaving. Shouldn't he be asking relationship questions? Why was he talking about scam calls?

Sebastian continued asking, "How do scam calls work? How does the scammer kick things off?"

Nicholas began to ponder. He also often received scam calls, but he usually rejected calls from strangers. However, he was very familiar with how scam calls worked.

"So many ways! For example, the scammers start off by telling you your family member got injured in a car accident and are in dire need of money. Sometimes, they mention that you've committed a crime because you've received an express delivery, which turns out to be a restricted item.

"Sometimes, the scammers tell you that someone spent your money overseas to buy a weapon, so the police are going to arrest you soon. All sorts of things."

There were too many scam calls. It was hard to list all of their tactics.

Sebastian's expression gradually grew solemn before asking, "Does anyone use wedding certificates to scam others?"

"Oh?" Nicholas was taken aback as doubt filled his eyes. "I've never heard of that scam tactic before!"

Nicholas had only heard of people tricking others into a marriage. He never knew about scammers using wedding certificates to scam others. He became interested.

"Tell me, what happened?"

Sebastian's gaze turned cold as he said calmly, "Someone called and explained that he found a wedding certificate."

Hearing that made Nicholas laugh. "That's not a scam call. Scammers don't usually start things off that way. Someone must have lost a wedding certificate, and the caller happened to find it."

After hearing Nicholas' answer, an icy glint flashed through Sebastian's eyes. The temperature around Sebastian seemed to drop.

Nicholas' heart gave a lurch. Why did he get the idea that Sebastian was about to murder someone?

Nicholas suddenly recalled Sebastian looking at Roxanne's ward. He then made a guess, asking, "About that call… Was it Roxanne who received it?"
