Sebastian tapped his fingers against the table absentmindedly. His voice sounded nonchalant, and Nicholas couldn't tell if he was upset at all.

"So, you believe that Roxanne intentionally let me overhear that she's married? She wants me to become nervous so that I'll marry her?"

Nicholas felt his speculation was very accurate. The more he thought about it, the more certain he was.

"Definitely. After all, who could scam someone with a wedding certificate? There are only two possibilities now. One, Roxanne's married, and someone really did pick up her wedding certificate."

Sebastian said confidently, "That's impossible."

Nicholas continued with a grin, "The second possibility is she's changing tactics by pressuring you to marry her. But Sebastian, you did mess up this time. It's time you made it up to her."

Sebastian recalled the danger previously and scowled slightly. When he spoke, there was a hint of helplessness in his voice. "I had already arranged for everything, but she refused to trust me."

Gordon led the best mercenary group in the country. He had the best weapons and mercenaries.

As long as Roxanne had obediently followed orders, she wouldn't have gotten hurt. The team could have rescued Liana as well.

Nicholas shook his head. "You still don't understand the main point. It's not about trust. You sent Roxanne into danger. Women care about emotions, but you're always rational."
