Oliver drove alone to the address, no backup in sight. Lena's scouts had their eyes on him the whole way and confirmed he was flying solo. This news did nothing to calm Lena's nerves; it only fueled her fury.
Years of trying to win a man's heart, but he never cared. And now, Oliver was willing to risk everything for Josefina, even his own life!
Fuming, Lena grabbed her phone, fired off a quick message, and deleted the history. She waited for Oliver to show.
Meanwhile, Josefina pulled into a nearly deserted village called Pebble Pile. Stepping out of her car, she took in the rundown surroundings and spotted Lena emerging from a shabby shack, flanked by four burly guys with guns.
Lena locked eyes with Josefina and smirked. "Well, well, Josefina. Didn't expect to see you end up in my grasp, did you?"
"Didn't think life outside the Harrison clan would be so tough on you, Lena," Josefina shot back, glancing at the crumbling house. "That place looks like it's ready to collapse. Karma’s a real kicker, huh?"
Lena, seething, lunged at Josefina, but ended up being taken hostage instead.
Josefina warned the gunmen, "Shoot, and Lena's done for." She then forced a pill into Lena’s mouth, ensuring she swallowed by squeezing her throat.
Lena clutched her neck, glaring at Josefina in a daze. How did she end up swallowing poison at Josefina’s hands? She traced it back to when she first attacked Josefina. Yep, that must be it.
Lena, utterly bewildered, couldn't bring herself to shoot Josefina despite having a gun in hand.
"You're bluffing, Josefina! You wouldn't carry poison with you!"
