Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 560

The underling remembered it all too well; he had been dating Lena.

But a shiver ran down his spine. In the boss's eyes, Lena had never mattered.

The underling couldn't help but reflect on his own position. Would he be discarded just as easily?

In the shadows, the man's voice was low and menacing. "What's the matter? Scared I'll do the same to you?"

"Boss, I wouldn't think that," the underling quickly explained.

The man chuckled, stood up, his figure tall and straight as a pine tree.

His deep voice filled the space. "You're different from Lena. Lena was always just a pawn in my game. My men, my brothers in arms, how could she compare to you?"

"Thanks for the vote of confidence, boss. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are today."

Satisfied, the man smiled. "Go take care of business, and remember, no traces."

"Understood." The underling left.

Alone in the dark room, the man took out his phone and dialed a number.

The phone's glow illuminated his face, casting ghostly shadows.

The call connected, and he spoke softly, "The plan's a bust. That idiot Lena, useless. She ignored my advice, went rogue trying to take down Josefina, and got herself in trouble too."

A woman's angry voice came through, "Why didn't you stop her? Such a waste, Lena. After all the trouble of placing her with the Harrisons, making her their darling princess. And what does she do? Josefina's barely back a few days, and she can't hold back!"

He sighed, "I didn't see it coming. Now that pawn's out of play, we need a new strategy."

"Figure something out fast; we can't risk exposing ourselves," the woman snapped before hanging up.

The man stood by the window, shrouded in darkness.
