CHAPTER 41
The battle with the rogues didn’t take too long because they were severely outnumbered and that’s when they were able to take Nicole and the warriors to the packhouse.
Arlo was there waiting and Nicole had woken up by that point. She was pleading with Arlo that she was set up but he wasn’t buying it. He looked at her like he could kill her himself.
They were all taken to the dungeon and Asher stayed by my side while I went to the living
room.
“Here.” Gage said, handing me a coffee.
“Thanks.” I said.
“So, she had a thing going with Spencer?” Arlo asked.
“Apparently. That’s who she said that she was doing this for.” I said.
“I don’t know why I’m surprised. Whenever we were together she was always asking about you and what you said about your family.” Arlo said.
“I’m really sorry. I didn’t know. But I didn’t know anything about Spencer’s life when he was here.” I said.
“You weren’t meant to. You were practically their hostage in that house.” Gage said.
“Yeah. He wasn’t going to tell me anything personal.” I said.
“Don’t worry about her. She’ll be dealt with.” Alpha Dennis said.
“And you’re not going home.” Asher said.
“We already tried that, remember. It was too hard for me to live here.” I said. And Asher looked over at Gage.
“Don’t stay away because of me. You need to be here. We don’t know if there’s anyone else in the pack that’s coming after you or not.” Gage said.
“Do you really think there could be more traitors?” I asked.
“People have been torn about whether to believe you or not. A lot of them were put straight after I told them that you only told us a lot of information under the Alpha command. That is what made them believe what you said. But some still don’t believe it.” Alpha Dennis said.
“Great. I’m meant to be the future Luna and people think I’m a lying b***h and have no

respect for me. Where’s the damn point in any of this?” I asked.
“Because it’s what I want. And the Moon Goddess. And I will put those people straight myself.” Asher said.

“Yeah. I don’t doubt that. Arlo, can I have a copy of the training schedules? After today, I’m sick of feeling so damn helpless all the time.” I said.
“You want to start training?” Asher asked.
“If I hadn’t mind linked Gage, then my family would probably be torturing me right now. I need to learn how to take care of myself.” I said.
“I’ll train you myself.” Asher said.
“You’re too busy. Alpha duties and everything else.” I said.
“I don’t care. I’ll find the time. You’re not training with other men and I’m not letting another man train you.” He said, very determined and with not much room for argument. So I didn’t
bother even trying to argue with him after this.
Asher took me home and we knew that there was no one else lurking around because there were a couple of women inside cleaning the kitchen and cleaning all of the blood up off the floor and the counters. All the mess that I had made this morning while being attacked.
Asher and I went straight up to my room where Asher grabbed a suitcase and we started packing as many things into it as possible before I grabbed my school bag and I put all of my
books in it.
I saw Asher looking at me a little worried as I was getting my school books, and I had a feeling I knew what he was going to try and do regarding school. But he wasn’t going to win that argument. I wasn’t staying home and missing out on classes. Especially not with exams coming up.
I did another look around the house to make sure that I didn’t need anything else and then we left and went back to the packhouse.
There was a lot of movement around downstairs, so we went up to Asher’s room and Asher closed the door behind me.
He helped me unpack and he set up all my stuff in the bathroom, moving his stuff aside.
“I told you there was enough room for you.” Asher said, coming back to the wardrobe.
“Yeah. I don’t think I realized just how big this walk–in was.” I said.

“I know. It’s pretty big.” He said.
“Yeah. Just a bit.” I said.
“Are you alright?” He asked.
“Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?” I asked.
“I don’t know. I was just wondering.” He said.
“You don’t have to worry about me. I’m here and I’m fine.” I said.
“You were just attacked in your house this morning.” He said.
“It’s not the first time I’ve been attacked in that house.” I said.
“Trinity…” He said, forcing me to look at him. “What’s wrong? And don’t tell me that it’s nothing. I can tell that there’s something.” He said.

“I just can’t figure out what they want? I mean, why would they go to all of this trouble just to torture me to death?” I asked.
“Maybe they’re more pissed off and deranged than we realized.” He said.
“Yeah. Maybe. But I don’t think so. I get the feeling that there’s more to it than that.” I said.
“Like what?” He asked.
“I don’t know. But there has to be a reason why they are so desperate to get me back.” I said.
“Have you considered calling their families?” He asked.
“No. I’ve never even met them and I am going by the fact that they are just as bad as my parents.” I said, turning back to keep hanging up my clothes.
“Dad could call them. Maybe feel them out a little bit.” He said.
“I don’t know. I’m 18 and I’ve never met them. You don’t think that’s a little strange?” I asked.
“Yeah. It’s very strange. I’m gonna go and talk to dad about it.” He said.
“Alright. I’ve got school work to do. And then I want to talk about training.” I said.
“You’re not going to let that go, are you?” He asked.
“I thought you’d be pleased? It’s important for us to know how to defend ourselves.” I said.
“I know. Yeah. We’ll talk about it when I get back.” He said.

CHAPTER 41
So he walked out of the bedroom and I finished unpacking.

When I was finished I sat at the desk to do my homework and a bit of studying for my other classes because I needed to keep up otherwise I would fail.
I found it really hard to concentrate but I managed to get a bit done before I realized that Asher had been gone for a really long time.
So I eventually got up and I went looking for him.
I went to the ground floor of the packhouse and I looked around everywhere before I went to
the office and I knocked on the door.
As soon as I knocked on the door Asher is the one that opened it and he let me inside.
“What’s going on? You’ve been gone for ages.” I said.
“I know. Dad’s made a few phone calls. We’re trying to follow up with some information now.” Asher said. So I looked over and Alpha Dennis was on the phone right now.
“What information? You said that he was going to try and call my parents‘ families.” I said, looking at the both really confused.
“You better come in and sit down.” He said.
