Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time novel Chapter 478

Julia and Franklin arrived at the restaurant almost at the same time. As they were walking in, they happened to run into the CEO Franklin had originally planned to meet that morning.
The CEO seemed entirely unbothered by Franklin’s last-minute schedule change. When he saw Franklin, he greeted him warmly and said, “I watched the press conference this morning. People both inside and outside the industry are full of praise. Congratulations.”
“Thank you,” Franklin said. “About our meeting earlier today-”
“Wilson Group suddenly achieving such a major technological breakthrough, and Mr. Wilson attending the press conference in person, is only natural. I understand. There is no need for you to worry about it.”
When Julia watched the Wilson Group press conference, she knew Franklin had not been required to attend it. Otherwise he would not have time now to have dinner with her and Levi. He would be busy with social obligations related to the event.
But hearing this conversation, she realized that Franklin had deliberately rearranged his schedule in order to attend the press conference that morning.
The CEO had other plans and ended the conversation after a brief exchange.
After wrapping up the work at Wilson Group, Maggie finally had a day off and thought she could finally rest. But early Saturday morning, she received a call from Isabella, saying she wanted to go out to eat and shop.

Maggie was tired, but not so exhausted that she could not go out for a meal or a walk. She simply did not feel like going out. Isabella seemed to sense this and said, “Mom, we will only be out for half a day. We can eat outside and shop a little, then come back.”
“I know.”
A little after eleven, Isabella’s car arrived at the Miller family residence. When Maggie saw the car pull up, she grabbed her bag and walked out, only to find Franklin sitting inside as well.
Isabella waved at her. “Mom, get in.”
Isabella had not mentioned on the phone that Franklin would be coming too.
Maggie stopped walking.
“Mom?” Isabella looked up at her in confusion.
Maggie looked toward the car, at Franklin. He seemed to understand her thought immediately. He lifted his hands slightly, as if to say he was only following Isabella’s arrangements.
“Mom, we have already booked a private room. Let’s go.”
Maggie said nothing and got into the car.
Inside, Isabella curled up beside her and chattered nonstop. Maggie listened quietly and responded when necessary. After a while, a classmate messaged Isabella, and she switched to chatting on her phone.
Maggie glanced at Franklin, then picked up her phone and sent him a message: “Next time Isabella asks for something like this again, tell me in advance. I will find a way.”
Franklin looked down when he received her message. Instead of replying on his phone, he simply said aloud, “All right. Understood.”
Isabella looked up from her tablet. “Hm? Dad, what did you say?”

Franklin smiled. “Nothing.”
“Oh.”
At the restaurant, after placing their order, Franklin looked at her and said, “I read through the key points of your technical breakthrough. I think-”
Maggie did not look up and did not look at him. “I don’t want to talk about work right now.”
Franklin watched her for a moment, unbothered by her cool tone. He poured her a glass of water, set it in front of her, and asked with a small smile, “All right. Then what do you want to talk about?”
