Mr. CEO's Regret: Win Back His Ex-wife novel Chapter 8

Harry wasn't in the mood right now. Logically, he should have been happy about divorcing Catherine, but the expected joy never came. Instead, there was an inexplicable irritation.

But Michelle kept calling him anyway. He finally reluctantly answered. His tone was completely different from the coldness he had shown Catherine.

He smiled faintly. "What's wrong?"

"There's something I don't quite understand. Could you come help me look at it?" Michelle's tone was coquettish. "I've also prepared a surprise for you."

"Let's do it tomorrow. I have some things to handle at home today." Harry's voice sounded tired.

Michelle sounded disappointed as she said reluctantly, "Alright then, but you absolutely must come tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay." Harry hung up.

Michelle put down her phone. Her gaze fell on the pink lace nightgown beside her. This was the outfit she had prepared to win Harry over, but he couldn't come today.

Michelle picked up the documents on the coffee table and opened them. The day Catherine suddenly fainted, Michelle instinctively thought she was faking it.

But Michelle was always careful. And feeling uneasy, she had someone follow Catherine to the hospital. These documents were her pregnancy test results.

As Michelle sipped her red wine, her gaze settled on the gestational age. The pregnancy wasn't far along, so Harry probably didn't know about it. But there was no guarantee that Catherine wouldn't tell him after he went home this time.

Michelle finished the wine in her glass. A faint smile was playing on her lips. She picked up her phone and sent Catherine a message, demanding that she present a proposal within three days or she would find another partner.

Catherine drowsily felt her phone vibrate. She reached for it and glanced at the screen. Her vision was a bit blurry, but when the words became clear, she immediately lost all sleepiness.

How could she possibly produce a complete proposal in three days?

Michelle's intentions were obvious. Catherine remained quiet for a few seconds, then replied with one word. "Okay."

The next day at work, Catherine started focusing on other projects. She knew she could no longer handle the Bluebay project. With Michelle's habit of demanding complete revisions at every turn, Catherine couldn't produce anything satisfactory even if she had a month.

Catherine rubbed her throbbing temples. Both sides were constantly pressuring her, and thinking that she couldn't complete it anyway, she simply gave up. She didn't need to exhaust herself over this project.

She knew very well that whether this project succeeded depended entirely on Michelle's whim. Even if the proposal was perfect, Michelle wouldn't be satisfied in the end.

Ever since Bluebay's original manager had been replaced, Michelle never intended to work with them in the first place. Catherine thought she might as well focus on her other projects.

"Ms. Quinn, why don't you try negotiating with Ms. Stone again? Consider sending some gifts and visiting her in person? Be more accommodating."

The entire company had invested considerable effort and money into this project. Caleb still wasn't willing to give up this golden opportunity.

This project would take Seraphis Group to the next level. But without it, they couldn't even pay this month's salaries.

Catherine looked at all the hopeful faces and felt the pressure mounting. She couldn't find a company that matched Bluebay's caliber on such short notice. Even if she could, Harry would only help Michelle anyway.

Under pressure, Catherine finally nodded. "I'll try."

After leaving the meeting room, she called Michelle. "Ms. Stone, let's talk."

"Sure." Michelle agreed readily and gave her an address.

When Catherine saw the address, her breathing stopped for a moment. She had once fallen in love with this property at first sight and wanted it as her and Harry's marital home, but he had refused.

It turned out that Harry had prepared this property for Michelle.
