Chapter 83 Because Catherine Is His Wife
Before Henry could finish his words, Rachel cut him off impatiently. “Where are you going? You’re not going anywhere!”
Harry looked up at her. His gaze was sharp and probing. “Mom, are you hiding something from me?”
“Yes. It was Cathy who threw the paint. If you go see Michelle right now, don’t blame me for turning against you.” Rachel didn’t hold back and shot Harry a look as cold as ice.
Harry drew in a deep breath and muttered harshly. “She has lost her mind, and now you’re going mad too?”
Rachel met his gaze calmly. “But have you ever thought about why Cathy threw the paint? Do you really believe Yvonne was behind all this? Do you honestly think Yvonne has the wit to pull it off?”
Harry said nothing. His gaze sank into a deep, unreadable gloom.
“You may not see it, but everyone else does. Michelle’s nothing but trouble.” Rachel stated with
irritation.
After a moment of silence, Harry replied, “Still, she saved my life. I can’t just stand by and do nothing.”
He turned to leave, but Rachel stopped him once more. “Do you even want to be with Cathy or not? I
know you
still have her in your heart.”
Hearing that, Harry came to a sudden halt.
Rachel instantly sensed a chance and felt a slight relief inside. Just as she was about to speak, Harry walked away.
Her face darkened as she asked, “Harry, have you lost your mind? If you go to her now, forget about ever reconciling with Cathy!”
The thought of Catherine with Jeremy made Rachel’s words sound almost ridiculous to Harry.
Catherine loathed Harry, and there was no way she would want him back.
And Rachel was wrong about one more thing–Harry didn’t love Catherine. His concern for her was only for the sake of their child.
Harry thought coldly, yet the image of Catherine being doused in paint surfaced in his mind. At that moment, she had looked utterly helpless.
Troubled and restless, Harry made his way to the hospital.
Though the paint had been washed off Michelle’s body, she had already been exposed to everyone’s

eyes. Furious, she had spent the whole night awake, cursing Catherine under her breath.
She was certain it had to be Catherine. Aside from her, no one else had the motive.
2/2.
When the door opened and Harry appeared, Michelle instantly put on a pitiful expression. “Harry, you’re finally here.”
However, Harry’s demeanor was different from usual. His attitude toward her was noticeably cool. Sitting down by the bed, he said flatly, “It was Catherine’s doing.”
Michelle drew in a sharp breath. As she lowered her head, a flicker of resentment crossed her eyes. Her voice carried only grievance as she asked, “Why would she do this to me?”
Harry didn’t respond right away. He simply looked at her calmly. At last, he spoke slowly. “Do you really not know why?”
Michelle’s heart skipped a beat. Her voice wavered with grievance. “Harry, what do you mean by that?”
Harry didn’t bother exposing her scheme. Instead, he rose with fatigue written across his face and
said, “You don’t need me to remind you of what you’ve done. Since you saved my life, I’ll let this
slide. From now on, there’s no need for us to see each other again.”
Michelle froze in place. Her voice trembled as she spoke. “Did I do something wrong? I’ll change.”
“I’ve seen the video. You know very well what our relationship is. There were never any feelings between us.” Harry’s temple throbbed with a dull ache.
Michelle shook her head in disbelief. “That’s not true. Before Catherine came along, you clearly had feelings for me.‘
“I was grateful that you saved me. But it was never love–only gratitude.” Harry made himself perfectly clear.
Michelle’s eyes reddened in an instant.
Harry reminded her. “Have you forgotten? Back then, you were nearly killed for turning down a confession, so you begged me to pretend to be your boyfriend. There were never any feelings between us.”
“Then why would you go that far for me? You even handed me Bluebay Group. Isn’t that proof that you loved me?” Michelle pressed, refusing to accept it.
Harry stepped back. “No. I never had feelings for you. If I had, don’t you think I would’ve wanted to sleep with you?”
Although Harry hated being forced to marry Catherine back then, he had never once thought about divorce since. Being intimate with her felt completely natural. After all, she was his wife. Michelle, however, was different. She was simply the woman who had saved his life.
